DFW Superior Home Solutions Reviews (%countItem)

We hired *** with DFW Superior Home Solutions to remodel our home. He did not fulfill his end of the contract resulting in a breach of contract for our master bathroom remodel. He left our master bathroom with holes in the wall between our shower and bathtub, where he intentionally tore up the wall to give us no other option to pay him extra to tile shower wall. When we decided to not tile the shower he said fixing the wall was not included in the contract. Our bathtub is not level. The tile on our bathtub looks very unprofessional and 2 inch gap in between tub and tile. The schlutter edging around tile and shower cubby look very unprofessional. He used weather stripping tape around my tub to hide the 2 inch gap between tub and tile. I had new contractors come give me an estimate to fix and was told it would all have to be torn out and redone. They took bathroom door off wall to install tub and flooring and now my bathroom door will not close. They lost trim around my bathroom door and used trim that did not match the rest of the door casing. The trim around bathroom door has gaps in the corner where the trim meets. I have nails hanging out of my trim. The porcelain tile in bathrooms was not laid correctly to match wood look. They did not have laminate flooring flow into closet in master bathroom. They ran out of porcelain tile when laying my tile in the laundry room and installed the left over tile for my bathrooms without consulting me. After installing my tile in my guest bathroom they did not hook up my new vanity and sink properly resulting in a leak. I brought it to his attention and fixed it improperly with a sealant on my pipes that is not in compliance with city code and the wall and new vanity has stains from the leak. I had them install new laminate and tile throughout my house and in the contract it stated I would get new baseboard. The baseboard they installed looks very unprofessional because they pieced it together with several small sections instead of long sections. Also the way it as cut looks very unprofessional as well as visible screws/nails. I had him install a new back door and the door will not latch. He purchased the wrong door for us. I asked him to pick up a steel door from ***/*** with a window and he purchased a wood door from a store that sells material that is damaged. Not to mention, the door he purchased had locks and opening going in wrong direction as our original door. There are huge gaps on top and bottom of our door. He put my new locks on backwards. There are huge gaps in between my hinges. He used weather stripping tape and cut pieces out of it for the locks that look very unprofessional. He cut my alarm to my backdoor and lost my sensor. The door will not lock or latch correctly. I will have to purchase a new door and pay someone to install correctly. He said due to all the business we did with him he would throw in a free fireplace remodel. Again he tore up our fireplace before, we had a chance to reconsider allowing him to do any additional work.He later tried to charge me to pay his floor guy $250 to tile it for me. They cut my mantle installing schluter edging. One side of the fireplace is all the way to the wall while the other side stops a few inches before end of wall. They took down my chair molding and lost it. He said the schluter edging served as a divider. The chair molding was not put back as I asked him to do so. Again they ran out of tile when doing my fireplace and tried to piece together the last 3 pieces with smaller broken pieces. I had to request they redo it and go across town to locate the tile to have them repair it correctly. We gave him several opportunities to fix everything and eventually had to ask him to leave because he continued to cut more corners and do more inadequate work. I became fearful that he was intentionally messing things up in my home. He became angry and sent me threatening text messages when I threatened to contact an attorney.

DFW Superior Home Solutions Response • Jan 01, 2020

The facts of this situation are simple. there were 4 separate contracts signed for work to be completed at the residence for the homeowner. all work was carried out with their direct involvement , they picked all the materials, I supplied the labor to expedite the scope of the contract.

he contractual sums were paid in full signifying that the work was acceptable and the homeowner satisfied. I structure all my contracts with money left out up to 20% remaining - because my job is to provide a Superior Service. I do not get paid unless the homeowner is satisfied. I was paid for all contractual work with exception to the kitchen flooring replacement, and the labor and materials for back door replacement, and fireplace refacing.

his job began with just the bathroom flooring- within 2 weeks I was hired on additional contracts to do even more work, constituting the floors for the entire home, plus cleaning the dryer vent out, troubleshooting the ac system, which I submitted pricing to them for repairs. Not once, was there anything other than productive proactive participation with the homeowner who is upset about items clearly noted in our contract as exclusions. Painting baseboards is an exclusion, tile in laundry room underneath the washer and dryer was used because the product for the rest of the 400 sq ft kitchen was discontinued. Nothing was done without express approval, and contractual documentation regarding it , with video, and photographs as well as text messages attesting to the FACT- We transformed the entire home within 2 weeks, we followed standard construction industry practices, I have over 28 years building every scope of project from Schools to skyscrapers to now disgruntled neighbors who I will have to now sue due to defamation and this willfull attack without merit. There was no problem until the final bill came due. The final bill of under 1000$. This and every complaint against me I have discovered here is baseless.

CONTRACT law- the complaints are about items requested of me, above the scope of our contracts, and the complaints about items not in the contract and they are very clearly defined.

Thank you,

Sincerely

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:
I paid the contractor in full to complete my remodel of my master bathroom which is still incomplete and this is a breach of contract. I am asking for reimbursement of my bathroom as I have to pay another contractor to fix his work. The job was left incomplete with holes in the wall between my shower and tub. Tile job looks very unprofessional. Bathroom door will not close and trim above door does not match and looks very unprofessional. Baseboards throughout my home have to be redone as they look unprofessional. Guest bathroom sink was not fixed correctly and out of compliance with city codes. The leak caused stains in my vanity and wall. They did not consult me regarding putting a different tile in my laundry room until after job was finished. My fireplace looks very unprofessional and I was more pleased with it beforehand. My back door is still not latching correctly and it looks very unprofessional. I am asking for return of money on door as I have to purchase a new door and pay another contractor to install correctly. Also, he cut my alarm during installation and misplaced sensor resulting in me paying for a service call to my security system. My floor in master bedroom is starting to come up at threshold. We made several attempts to call him and work things out with no avail. Last communication with him he sent me a threatening text message because we expressed not being satisfied with his attempts to fix his inadequate work. We will be happy with reimbursement of bathroom and kitchen door.
Regards

This contractor deserves a 0 star rating. Horrible work and even worse customer service. Hateful text messages and calls when they can’t rob the client of any additional money. Do not use this contractor. Be ware
