Excellent work by all professionals involved!
We recently had work done by D & H Roofing (D&H Construction Services of Central Florida). We had the main roof on the house reshingled, and the roof on an attached elite panel (insulated) porch covered.
During the decision process (we got quotes from 3 roofers) they were always helpful and responded promptly to questions. We decided on D&H for several reasons (they were the least expensive, but not by a large amount), but mainly because their estimator mentioned being able to work on our leaking porch roof, where the other companies were reluctant, and did not provide any information in the pricing for that project.
Everyone we worked with on the project was professional, and did great work, from the office staff to the contractor who delivered the supplies, to the crew who did the reshingle, and the crew who fixed the porch roof.
The office set up the supply’s delivery on a Friday morning, and that group showed up during the allotted time, and completed their work in about 30 min. Then the office let us know to remove heavy items from the walls before the start time of 7:00 on Monday, and to make sure to cars we wanted to use out of the garage and driveway. Just before 7:00 on Monday the crew arrived, and the dump trailer was placed in the driveway.
That crew efficiently removed the old roof and replaced roof structure - we needed 3 ½ sheets of decking, and 24 ft of 2x4 for joists & headers to replace areas that had become soft since the last reroof in 2004. They put down tarps to catch the old roofing materials.
Then they began to install new fascia, the peel & seal underlayment, the new plumbing stacks, and toilet vents. Finally, the main course, the roof! That was installed followed by ridge vents. They cleaned up during and after the whole process, using large magnets to find nails.
Also, the project manager noticed we had extra vents on our roof. He suggested removing them, as they would cause the air flow from the soffit to the ridge vents to not work as efficiently as possible. I agreed, as we had several days the previous summer when the A/C ran for 8 straight hours (so far this is working as promised).
The next day the project manager came to pick up the dump trailer, and the crew arrived to work on the porch. They power washed the porch roof, then began to install the white peel & stick material to the roof. The crew from the previous day had left the area over the porch roof unfinished so the porch crew could place their materials under the new shingles to allow the rain to flow down the roof, instead of into the seams on the porch.
We have only had light rain since the installation, but everything is working fine, and it is great to have a dry porch again!

D&H Construction has been my go-to roofer for the last 8+ years. They have completed dozens of roofing projects for my business as well as personally for family & friends. I would highly recommend them for any roofing project (residential, commercial, shingle, metal, flat, etc).

D&H came to repair my roof. They damaged both of my gazebos and left yard a mess!
August 2018 - D&H Construction came to replace our roof. Their crew was messy but we assumed they would clean up when they were done. The didn't use a tarp to toss debris in around the entire perimeter of our home. Upon completion they left our yard a complete mess, including the trees filled with debris, nails, bags, roofing material/shingles and more. They even left our water hose running in yard that their construction crew had used.

9-12-18. I sent them the following message on 9-12-18 Currently, there is garbage that was left all over the back of the house/patio (as well as small pieces around the front/sides). Even in our trees. There is beverage waste scattered throughout. We've found nails in the driveway as well. I am afraid at what would happen with our kids walking barefoot in the yard. The house has black tar splashed all over the side (we just had it power washed last month). There are roof shingles and nails on top of our new gazebo's. They have torn the screens, curtains and roof in various locations of our brand new gazebo. There are empty bags from vendor materials all over our back porch including in a tree. Even the rubble from the roof shingles is all over our brand new patio furniture. Lastly, someone used our water faucet on the side of the house and left the water running! We just discovered this today. Our bill needs to be covered for said use. We are requesting replacement of our gazebos and assembly costs, thorough rubbish removal, power-washing of the side of the house, and water bill coverage. We are very disappointed with the negligence and disregard for our home and the safety of our family. I also included pictures of said damage.
9-13-18 I called the technician manager that had previously come to our home. He said he would send an employee to come and *** the damages and followup with me.
9-14-18 D&H employee came by and stated he couldn't believe our home was left in this state and that they would have a clean up crew over right away.
9-18-18 D&H had a clean up crew to clean up the yard. Nothing regarding our Gazebo's being replaced was done.
9-27-18 I messaged D&H via the repair portal, no response.
10-3-18 I called D&H - Donna said to email them the model number /part numbers to the gazebos that I have and to send pictures of what they need to order as well. I told her the pictures of the damages were in the repair portal as well.
10-3-18 I emailed Donna at D&H pictures, model numbers and specified again that it was 2 gazebos, both had been ruined including cover, screens and curtains.
11-10-18 I emailed D&H - no response
11-12-18 Donna B from D&H replied stating they would review and resolve the issue.
1-10-19 I emailed D&H to followup as I never heard anything else
1-15-19 Donna B. from D&H responded stating they had ordered the replacement cover for the gazebos. and that the owner had been out of town.
1-15-19 I replied to Donna stating that it was not just 1 gazebo, but 2 and not just the cover but screens also.
No response.
1-23-19 A package arrived with 1 gazebo cover (no curtains or screens)
1-23-19 I emailed D&H that the package arrived with only 1 cover but that 2 gazebos including screens and curtains were ruined.
No response.
I've never heard back from them again. After 6 months it is ridiculous to me that I am still dealing with this issue.

Desired Outcome

Money to replace the 2 ruined gazebos. (screens, covers, curtains etc.)

Complaint Case #: XXXXXXXX
Consumer: ***

To whom it may concern,

We replaced the roof on this home with the approval of the owner, Invitation Homes, on September 6 and 7, 2018. We picked up the trailer and cleaned up the construction debris, September 8. On September 10, the resident contacted Invitation Homes and reported that there was debris around the gazebos and that one of them had been damaged. She also stated that there was a stain on the driveway from the dumpster and more debris on the back porch. On September 11, we were able to return to the residence and do a thorough inspection of the grounds and surroundings. While on site we performed the following - "Pressure washed the wall, walkway, and all common areas. We also ran a high-powered magnet again to ensure no nails were found on the property. While on site we found a small tear on one of the gazebo's canopy. At that time, we accepted the fact that we may have caused the damaged and gladly offered to replace the cover for the gazebo. There were no clear tags on the gazebo for us to find the brand and style of this gazebo so we could make sure it was the same for matching purposes. We asked the tenant who rented the home if they could provide us with the brand and style so we could order it for replacement. On October 3rd, we received an email response stating that she now wanted 2 gazebos replaced even though only 1 gazebo was damaged. At that time, we forwarded the message to owners of the home (Invitation Homes) to assist us with resolving the issue since they were the owners of the home. Our next communication from the resident was November 12 and again we turned to Invitation Homes for assistance since this is the protocol between us and the owner. After a meeting with Invitation Homes, we ordered a replacement cover for one of the gazebos, it was delivered on January 23. We then received another email on January 23, saying that she received the replacement cover but was continuing to request new screens, sides for two gazebos even though these were not damaged. We again contacted Invitation Homes and we were told as far as they were concerned the matter was resolved. We make ever effort to make everyone completely satified but it is not always posible. It is our policy to repair, replace, or fix any items that may have been effected during the reroof process. In this case, we took every necessary step to resolve the issues here. Unfortunatly we realized that this was most likely going to be impossible since the tenant was being completely unfair by trying to get items replaced that clearly didn't have any relevence in this matter. We also believe fair is fair and in some cases when people try to take advantage of that they can't always be rectified. On the other hand, we have reroofed over 2000 homes for this client and have a steller record of 100% satisfaction in doing so. Roofing companies rely on customer recommendations to be successful. Although customer complaints are not very common, we do make every effort to resolve them quickly and completely. We have made every effort to resolve the issues here. When we were notified that we had a complaint on the Revdex.com website, we contacted the representative at Invitation Homes that was involved from the beginning of the reroof. We were told we have made ever effort to satisfy this tenant and as far as everyone is concerned this situation had been resolved to the best of our ability and that we have taken every necessary action we could.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It is sad that your company is pretending everything was left in a great condition as of 8 when the trailer photo was taken Sept. 11th and the trash around the yard as well. When your employees left I didn't call that day because the trailer was still there. I assumed someone was coming back to clean up. By the 2nd day I called to inquire about the trailer being left and was told someone should have already picked it up by that point. I called to complain about the trash and your representative came back out to assess the problem and saw all the damages and debris and apologized and told me that should never have happened. There was also rust left in the driveway from the bin left sitting. I showed the damages on both gazebos to your staff representative when he came and he stated he would let the owner know. I did not call your office again right away because this person said they were going to let management know everything that was damaged and about the state our home was left in and make sure a cleaning crew came.

Just because we are renters does not give you the right to treat our home and belongings like garbage. We uploaded all of the damage photos into the invitation homes portal so you could see the pictures as well as the description that there were in fact 2 gazebos that were damaged. The info was provided immediately through the portal. We were very upfront and very communicative. We uploaded 17 photos of the damages September 11th & 12th. We only called you to follow up after you failed to handle the situation that had been uploaded. We contacted Invitation Homes and were told that we needed to contact you directly. We then spoke with Donna and explained everything to her after it had been uploaded to the repairs portal. Your team has access to all of the images that are uploaded under the work order from our home. I requested replacement for both gazebos via portal and to Donna directly. She said someone would contact me right back and after several days I emailed. She told me to forward the model information including pictures which I did. I told her on the phone it was 2 gazebos. Later when she emailed me that one had been ordered for the COVER only, I responded and said there were 2 gazebos and also that it was not just the cover. There was no response. I emailed again when the one cover arrived. no response.

(see the images below as well as PROOF that you knew all along exactly what was being requested for replacement.) When asked, I provided the EXACT model number, name and link to the product on Amazon for you, so there was no confusion in what the replacement parts were. It is unfortunate that your company has to resort to lying versus honoring replacement for what your team damaged.

Thank you Donna for the response and resolution. I have searched my email. As of 5-24-19, I see no new emails from ***@yahoo.com and no missed calls or voice mails, not sure which number is being used.
My email address is the same as well as my phone number. I will email you with both to ensure they have not been misplaced.
Thank you

The BEST roofing experience ever.!!! Hop and his crew did a masterful job roofing my house. It is now the best looking and strongest roof in the neighborhood. When Irma came through she deposited my 80 ft. Pine tree on the bedroom roof, leaving a hole an a lot of water which collapsed the drywall. Hop had his crew patched it until he could roof the house. It held perfectly. I was so impressed with the stick on patch that Hop did it for the entire roof and am I glad he did. I have a barrier so strong and waterproof that I wont worry if we get a strong storm again. The workers were very professional, neat and a pleasure to have around. Thanks again Hop. Jerry C.

Our PERSONAL home has a leak resulting for the poor repair D&H did. We have requested repair by email, phone and text. We have not gotten 1 return
Repair done by D&H has continued to leak. We has requested repair numerous times. Hop C contracted the work, gave us a special price for CASH and will not fix our leaking roof. Because we paid CASH he will not return calls for repair

Desired Outcome

FINISH THE JOB, PROVIDE RECEIPT

This job was favor to an associate who happens to be a Friend of mine. We have worked together on many projects with no complaints. The complaint came from the spouse of my associate whom I deal with on a regular basis. I have responded to this issue and I will explain in detail the way this entire process went.
We had done multiple roof repairs on this house for my associate. The home had issue at the time of purchase. The entire low slope portion of the home, all the lead boot penetrations and the chimney were worked on in mid-November of 2017. I received a text saying that 1 boot and the chimney were leaking at the end of March. On April 9th we went to the property to inspect and address the issues. We fixed the lead boot leak and inspected the chimney. The siding on the chimney was replaced by another contractor and upon inspection, the siding and trim boards were never caulked, leaving wide open gaps on the chimney box. I took photos and sent them to the client letting him know that this was never done. The client, a contractor himself, agreed that these repairs needed to be completed and said he would take care of it. There were wide open gaps in the trim and siding. Water could be getting in and running behind the siding, then behind the flashing if a proper water barrier was not installed to the chimney sheathing before installing the siding. On April 23rd, I received a text from the client saying that he had caulked the chimney and it still had a leak at the chimney. At that time, I recommended a water test which I am going to provide, free of charge. In the event it is not the roof, we could at least pin point the issue, so it could be resolved. If it is in fact the roof, it will be fixed under warranty at no cost. As far as a letter and or any emails we have not received any from my associates wife. I let him know on May 1st that I would let him know when we were on the way to perform a free water test. I guess this was not quick enough for his spouse, so therefore decided that throwing me under the bus would be her plan of attack. Yesterday after 3 phone calls to both, he called me back to schedule an appointment. We are set to water test on this Friday May 11th (this is first available time he had) between 2-5. As far as a cash, there has never been any cash exchanged or given to me. They paid with a check, so where cash comes from is beyond me. I did give them a very good deal as these were friends of mine (I thought) and this was their personal home. We have always worked together on many projects with no written contracts, just good faith agreements on handshakes. This just goes to show some things are not as they seem, I guess. I will be glad to send photos of the siding not caulked, time stamped with dates clearly showing when they were taken. I can also provide a copy of the check that was mailed to my office proving that there was no cash exchanged for this deal. Regardless of how anyone pays, we still stand behind our work 100% and will still be giving excellent service at a fair price.

Problem has been resolved

On 10/24 said company worked on my roof. That day I got a leak in my roof from a roofing nail. The company came back out to access the damage and to see who was at fault. On the 25th I noticed a tub of tar and box of nails still on my roof, as well as nails throughout my yard. I talked to an employee named Harold W and was informed that the roof wasn't completed that is why the materials were still on my roof and why the nails weren't picked up. He informed me that the crew would come out with and clear all the nails and that he would complete the roof. October 26th Mr. W came to complete the roof. Where the items were stored was above my children's basketball hoop. I was not asked to move the hoop but the employee placed his ladder in front of the hoop. Later that day my children went to play with the hoop and noticed it was broken and covered in shingle debris. I flagged down Mr. W on 10/30 and he agreed that the hoop was broken. He implied that a box of shingles must've fallen and broke the hoop.He also said that the company would reimbursement for the hoop and that the nails would be cleaned up. I contuned to ask Mr. W when the nails would be cleared as well as when I would be reimbursed for the hoop. I was given a business card with the company information a week before thanksgiving and was told the owner was on vacation until after the holiday. I left a voice message and text message for Michael L D to contact me. On 12/12 I finally got in touch with him. He informed me that he would replace the hoop. He tells me he was on amazon and would order a new hoop upon my approval. My children seen the hoop and it wasn't the same one or comparable. He then goes to say it is not his responsibility to replace the hoop and that he was trying to be nice. Said I must have walked the neighbor picking up nails. Said his employees did not break the hoop. Later he says he will have to file an insurance claim. That was the middle of December. I have received nothing as of 12/27.

Desired Outcome

Refund To resolve the issue a refund of $349.00 would need to be given or the same hoop that was damaged by his company.

Just want to start off with saying we have never had a complaint and take customer satisfaction very seriously. The above complaint was filed by the tenant who lives in the house not the owner of the home. (owner of home is aware of entire situation) We offered to replace the hoop even know we are not the ones who broke/damaged it just to keep the tenant of the residence happy. We didn't get a call on the hoop until 1 week after being completed. She came out and stopped Harold W (super intendant)in the street as he was driving by as we are doing multiple homes in the area and mentioned to him that she found here hoop damaged and said it must have been us that broke it. When I got involved she told me that she saw it happen and sent me a pic of a can of tar and box of nails that were still on the roof and clearly stable were they were sitting. (I guess to show that something could or may fall) (upon getting 2 different stories) We have spoken about the basketball hoop several times trying to come to a resolution but the model number of the hoop the company doesn't make anymore. (LIFETIME ***) after contacting Dicks sporting goods and several other sporting goods store we were given the new model that LIFETIME had replaced it with and offered to replace it with the new model and Upon sending the tenant the pics including make and model she then declared that they just want money for the hoop not another basketball hoop. I then explained that we could only replace the damaged hoop and not give cash/check for damaged goods. Again keep in mind we are only trying to keep the tenant happy even know we did not break/damage the hoop. Sometimes its better to replace or repair stuff that we didn't do in order to keep from getting complaints or a bad rap. Not sure were to go from here as a business owner we just want it to be put to bed while remaining fair for both parties.
