Good morning.  I would like to point out a few facts in regard to the complaint. On the day we painted Ms. [redacted]’s house, she walked the property with me after we finished and was extremely pleased with the result. She invited us all back for coffee. Even when I returned to find out what the problem was, she greeted me with open arms to hug me. Apparently, not realizing that I knew that she had filed a complaint. I would like to point out, the original day we painted was the hottest day of summer, 116 degrees. Prior to this date, I tried to reschedule, due to the fact that some of my staff have had problems with heat stroke in the past. She insisted she wanted it painted then, so we did. We did have to leave a couple of times to use the bathroom at a restaurant and take a few minutes to cool down. . She also failed to mention, she paid $300 less than the quoted price. Also, I personally pointed out and showed the contents of the large garbage bags of scrapings off  her house we had gathered.  May I add, we do not put the paper from taping windows in bags. Due to the fact that there is a large amount, it is always rolled into a ball and put in my truck to dispose of. One of my employees spent the entire day doing nothing but scraping and caulking. He never painted. He actually used one case (12 tubes), plus an additional 2 tubes of caulk. Please, check with anyone involved in home repairs, that is a lot of caulk.
I am not sure which neighbors were appalled, as one came over, asked for my card and requested a quote to paint his house as he thought the job was well done.
When we did go back, we did notice very few peelings. We cleaned them off and touched them up. Since we used the original paint, there is no spotting. The paint dried to the same color. I have several pictures of the house.
I don’t know what else could be required. The job was done well. I followed up. Again, in regard to requesting a refund, Ms. [redacted] failed to mention she paid $300 less than I quoted.
Thank you for your time. My apologies for the delay. I am running a small business and try to handle everything in a timely way.

In response to Ms. [redacted]’s complaint, we originally spoke prior to starting work. I explained, due to the type of siding, the best way to wash the house was with a garden hose. It would be the same...

intensity as the low setting of a power washer. She agreed to this. I received a phone call over a week after we finished painting. She stated there was some peeling. I advised her I would schedule to come look at it. I called Ms. [redacted] and advised her we would be there Thursday August 7th. She said no problem, she would be home. We arrived and no one was there. I spoke with her later and she advised she had things to do. We came a second time, Saturday August 9th.  We saw a few small spots that had started to peel and started scraping. Mrs. [redacted] and her daughter came out a few times and insisted we power wash. I again explained due to the type of siding, power washing would be as effective as a hose. They insisted. I advised I will come back and power wash.
I would like to add we did an extensive amount of scraping on the original day of painting. Ms. [redacted] and her daughter saw 2 garbage bags full of the scrapings we cleaned up. My worker also used an entire case (12 tubes) of caulk around the house. When we were finished, Ms. [redacted] walked around the house, said we did a great job and it was much better than the last painting job. She also gave me a hug and invited me and my crew back for coffee sometime. Also, the original job quote was $650.00. I have many pictures of the finished job.
I am attempting to satisfy this customer.

I did talk to [redacted], about power washing the house and she agreed to do it now, She told me she had been waiting for the weather to clear up and then would come back and redo what ever.  The calking she said they did is not true, and the garbage bags were filled with paper they used to cover windows and doors. When they finished for the day , I did say it looked good but the next day I and my daughter noticed all the peeling off and places that were not even attempted to caulk. I called her and couldnt get an answer or reply to my messages left for about a week. No I am not happy at all with this. They simple patched a few places with calking,  painted over that and that was all. Now the sides of house is spotted.  I bought  15 gal. of the best paint,They left 2 of the 5 gal. containers in the garage with half or more left in them. This is a 1700 sq. ft home. I was told by other painters it would take anywhere from 10-15 gal and maybe more. not half that was used. I think she should either refund my money , or come back and do this job right.  My neighbors are appalled at the job they did. I notified [redacted]. and she will not get any more references from them. thank you so much

Respectfully,

I recently hired Digiacomo Painting and they did an outstanding job. Very professional and also very personable. They really pay attention to details. They were on time and cleaned up when they were through. Their prices were very reasonable. I have recommended them to my family and friends and would recommend them to anyone.
