Diabetes Management & Supplies Reviews (3)

Diabetes Management and Supplies is very close to being the worst company I have ever had to do business with. They take an inordinate amount of time shipping out the order. They consistently double charged me, and even though they eventually would refund the money it is not acceptable that they overcharge EVERY order. Maybe they make up for it by sending lare amounts of unordered merchandise.Avoid if at all possible.

Review: On 7-9-2014 I received a call from a representative of Diabetes Management & Supplies requesting payment for the Insulin Pump supplies which were to be sent to my mother. My mother was a new client for this company due to the Competitive Bid requirements through Medicare. I went through the order for supplies with the representative which I was speaking with, and was given a total amount which was due for the order to be shipped. The total due for all of the supplies was $64.10. This amount represented the 20% which Medicare does not cover. I was assured that this was the total amount due, and I proceeded to give the representative my credit card number to charge so that the supplies would be shipped to my mother the following day.7-10-2014, I received a call from a representative of Diabetes Management & Supplies informing me that they had made a mistake, and I was given an incorrect amount ($64.10) the previous day. The representative informed me that the NEW amount due would be $70.85. I asked for an explanation, which really got me nowhere. I asked for a Supervisor to contact me.A supervisor named [redacted] returned my call, and again explained to me that a mistake wasw made by the company representative when I agreed to pay $64.10 for the supplies which my kother needs in order to live. [redacted] informed me that I would have to pay the NEW full amount of $70.85 in order to have the order shipped. I asked [redacted] to explain WHY the difference in price from one day to another. I explained that I had AGREED to pay the $64.10 for the complete order of supplies. [redacted] continued to explain that the representative had made a mistake on the order, and that the company would NOT HONOR the price I was quoted of $64.10, and that if I wanted my mother to receive her supplies, I would have to pay the NEW PRICE of $70.85. The explanation I was given by [redacted] was that the price I was given, and AGREED to pay on 7-9-2014 was for 30 Spirit/HTRON 3.15ml cartridges, NOT the 45 cartridges which I had been quote.Desired Settlement: I explained to [redacted], the supervisor, that it was NOT the extra $6.75 that bothered me. It IS the PRINCIPLE of the matter. I was given a price by the company representative, I AGREED to pay the price and gave them my credit card to charge, THEN I was told that THEY made a mistake, and in order for my mother to receive her NEEDED supplies, I would have to pay the NEW price. The proper thing to do would have been for the company to honor their $64.10 price, and APOLOGIZE. I want a refund of $6.75

At this time, my complaint, ID 10128858 regarding Diabetes Management & Supplies has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: Normally get calls around the end of the month to reorder my diabetes pump and sensor supplies for delivery on the second of the following month from Diabetes Management and Supplies out of New Orleans, La. (DM) Received calls, several without messages and one I could not understand what the person was saying on the message. During the month of June was denied delivery of Omni pods due to the fact DM states you have too many and in order for us to ship these to you the insurance requires you to have just a half of a box left. So during hurricane season I was not able to get my June supply of Omni pods. I brought this up to my Healthy Lives coach, [redacted] at the facility where I work to see if anyone else is having this trouble or if there is some policy or procedure Im not aware of. She did not know of an instance where a supply company can withhold medically necessary supplies and refuse to fill a doctors order!...On Wednesday July 2, 2014 I called DM to check on my order for that month and explained that I did not get my Omni pods last month and that its important and urgent I receive them now. She explained about the holiday coming up and I told her I am unable to do without these supplies and I need them before the holiday. She states will do her best. On Monday July 7, 2014 called to check on delivery of supplies. Still no shipment. Assured will be in progress. On Thursday July 10, 2014 when calling to speak to a supervisor about my shipment of supplies and to discuss the issues surrounding the reason why Im not getting my supplies including the recap of prior events. Was told that the manager was working on it and the pharmacy tech was out sick but was never able to speak to a supervisor. On this same day upon calling back in the afternoon around 1430 to discuss progress. Was told I would be getting my shipment tomorrow and my manager will be calling you after five. I never received a call. On Friday July 11, 2014 after returning from work around 1945 my supplies from DM arrived but were incomplete and I only received the sensors for my continuous glucose meter (CGM) and not the Omni pods for my insulin pump! At 1959 I called DM and got the answering service which stated would have to send an email to the manager and that I would get a phone call. At 2135 I had not received a call or my supplies so called the answering service again and requested to speak to a supervisor. Asked for a name of manager on call and was told I do not know a name I can send an email. On Saturday July 12, 2014 after no phone call or any way to receive supplies called the answering service again at 0520 requesting assistance. Sending email. I had to go to the hospital for treatment. At 0800 Christie called my number and stated she is aware of my trying to reach someone, apologizes and states there will be a QA manager calling me to file a complaint. She will talk to the COO today after the diabetes fair and discuss how I can get my supplies. A manager Jamie drove to the hospital in Baton Rouge to deliver partial supply order and I was told I would be getting my full shipment of supplies this week. I received 1 box of Omni pods at 1437. 7/17/14 I have not received my shipment of Omni pods nor have I received a call from DM QA department. 7/18/14 Called DM and spoke to Christy who insured me when I she brought me my 1 box of pods that I would receive my regularly scheduled supply of pods during the week of 7/14-7/18/14. She now informs me that she cannot send me any pods at all now because they gave me 1 box of pods. I am now furious. I informed her that I normally receive 3 boxes of pods each month and since I received no pods for June and 1 box for July she is putting me in a very uncomfortable and dangerous position by withholding my prescriptions. I have already gone without pods on the week of 7/7/14 and had to do injections every hour and miss work due to this discrepancy. She states she does not see where I was getting 3 boxes of pods every month!!! I am so tired of arguing this point every month and going through this amount of stress just to get my supplies that are prescribed to me and paid for by my insurance. This is absolutely absurd. Today is 7/21/14 and I have not gotten a call to even order my next months supplies!Desired Settlement: Would like my deliveries to occur correctly as prescribed, on time, every month without fail, no questions asked.
