Mr*** was contacted by my billing department and we explained that an error was made on our part in initially billing his insurance versus the workman's compensation. We further explained that this has been corrected and we have billed workman's compensation and have reversed the bill to
his insurance. Additionally, it was explained the Advice of Benefits that he was provided was for the Ultrasound and a Chest X-Ray which totaled $1,(the Ultrasound alone was charged at $856). Finally, my billing department explained that this is billed directly to workman's compensation, and he will not have any balance due. We have a very rigorous compliance program internally, and will not bill for items and services that were not rendered. We apologize for any inconvenience that this caused Mr***, but we have made every effort to correct the initial error and ensure that Mr*** understood every step forward
Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: !No one tried to explain anything to me except I owed the a bill They would not tell me who paid the dollars on my account..I had to contact my private insurance to find out that they charged them without my permissionI contacted my IUOE (union) attorney because that is who my insurance is thru..These people not only fraudulated a bill and tried to bill my insurance without my permission,,, they are lying now about their explanation to methere was not one everything with them is supposed to be recorded as far as conversations goThey don't have one because they are lying…There is not one If they had explained anything to me,, why did they send me the second bill?
The last email from you said they did not respond and you could do nothing, so I contacted my unionThey don't like fraudWhat ever happens now is up to my union attorney and my insurance… They were as unhappy as I wasI actually hope they throw the book at them since you say you can do nothing
The letter you received was the first I had heard from them any explanationI have told my Doctors I will never go =back there and so don't send anything there I showed them both bills and they were not happy eitherThey agreed from passed bills that the regular sonogram and chest x-ray would have been dollars combined,,,, total… To try something like this and pad the bill is no different than reaching into someones wallet and taking moneyThose are my thoughts and the truth as I and my doctors know it *** ***
