uses for their homeThe home owner pays a “set”fee designated by the home warranty company for us to show up and diagnose the problemPer thehome warranty company, we are to diagnose the problem and before any repairs are made, we are tocontact the home warranty company for further instructionsIn this case an issue within the ceilingfan itself was the problemThe customer chose to take a “cash buyout” from the home warrantycompany and take care of the problem himselfOnce the cash buyout choice has been made, thehome warranty company closes the claim number and has nothing to do with that particular jobanymoreThe customer chose to purchase and install a fan on his own behalfWhen the new fan didnot work correctly he called us back demanding that we come back that same day to re-diagnoseWedid oblige and instructed that there would be a charge if the problem was related to the fan or theinstallation since we did not provide or install the fanSince he chose the cash buyout and thewarranty company was no longer involved, the bill would go directly to himThe customer wasaware of our rates and that we charge by the half hourUpon investigating the problem, wediscovered that the new fan had a bad internal speed control switchWe replaced the switch and letthe homeowner know that it was a defective part in the new fan that he purchased and installed andthat he was responsible for the billThe homeowner was attempting to have us resubmit the claimand say it was the same issueWhen we explained it was not the same problem, he refused to pay theentire bill saying our rates were high and the home warranty company should have covered itWe doguarantee all of our labor and the parts we provided for yearWe are a local company who hasbeen in business over years and we pride ourselves doing a great job at a fair price.Sincerely,*** ***Vice President
