At first this place seemed amazing. Well really the shop itself is cool, and a majority of the guys are cool, but there's an artist here who is just.. sigh. Elizabeth R[redacted]. I went there with my friend after her and Elizabeth had a bit of back and forth on facebook about a tattoo idea (a skeleton kitty). She was fun at first, she'll make you think she's sweet and innocent when you hang around her and that all the drawings she does are "original". My friend had reiterated multiple times she wants a tattoo no one else has and had the sketch "custom" done, or so we thought (within the messages exchanged she showed us only her drawing and said it was hers. we have proof of this). During the session Elizabeth was talking about certain people that annoy her that want generic tattoo's, "especially when they get the tattoo off pinterest" <<< her words. She got the tattoo partially finished (long session that ended up running into their closing time) and said come back in two weeks. After my friend and I had gotten home she started browsing pinterest, and what do ya know, we saw almost the EXACT same tattoo that Elizabeth had started to put on her on someone else. So I confronted her, and Elizabeth said "references are used for every tattoo." I understand that , but this LITERALLY was the same art piece except for the addition of mini claws. Now that I study it I'm pretty sure that was the only change to this tattoo besides maybe different curvatures of the eyes and a few added squiggly lines on the skull. She proceeded to argue and try to justify her plagiarism. I even called her out on her stealing the idea from PINTEREST of all places and she had nothing to say besides that we had wasted her time and money. Are you serious? You'll happily bash people who get tattoo ideas off pinterest yet you steal the artwork from there yourself then have the audacity to say YOUR time was wasted? Is that not someone elses skin you permanently inked on? Does our time magically mean less than yours? Apparently money isn't good enough for her unless it's in the hundreds of dollars yet as she puts the pricing on her work "a 35 dollar tattoo" that was STOLEN in the first place. Having been confronted with the truth and unable to handle it she blocked me promptly on facebook and has yet to respond to my friend about how she's going to fix her plagiarism. Now she has to save up for a cover up, lol. We're just astounded by the level of unprofessionalism exhibited by this woman, especially in a shop like this where a majority of the other artists seem really chill. Maybe it's just beginners desire, I don't know, but I seriously hope the manager chastises her or sees what shes doing as, as I've stated multiple times, plagiarism, because that's exactly what it is. A majority of tattoo's she has hung up in her area were plagiarized, least the Halloween ones are. Unfortunately this type of stuff isn't illegal but damn are my friends and anyone who asks about artists gonna know about her and the misfortune of what happened. So before you get a tattoo, unless the artist free-hands that sketch in front of you, make sure you check all social and creative outlets to make sure it's not "referenced" aka stolen from elsewhere. The only saving grace to this shop artist wise is Bullet. I was gonna go back here to get work done by another artist but this experience has left such a black mark for me, for us, that now every other artist out there is going to be heavily scrutinized.
