Diamond Departures, LLC Reviews (5)

On March 18, [redacted] (an independent contractor) filed a response to my complaint against Diamond Departures on their behalfUntil very recently, I did not know that he had filed a response to the complaint that I lodged with the Revdex.com back on March 3, I still have not received any response from Diamond Departures, the company that does business in [redacted] , SCHowever, I still will respond to the Mr***, since he seems to have the job of speaking for Diamond DeparturesBut first, since some time has elapsed, I will provide a little background We purchased a membership with Diamond Departures following a high-pressure sales presentation at the Diamond Departures location on [redacted] RoadThe sales person made us several key representations on which we relied when we made our purchaseFirst, he told us that we could save on travel to [redacted] , WVSecond, he said we could save on travel to [redacted] Beach, where we often must drive for workThird he represented that we could save on trips to the Florida Keys, specifically Key WestPre-sale, we discussed all three destinations with the sales agent and he assured us that we would recoup the cost of membership ($2,700) with the savings we would realize on travel to these particular destinations and other travel As Mr [redacted] noted in his response to the Revdex.com, we did try to cancel our membershipThe day after we purchased this membership, I found a press release posted to the website of the [redacted] Attorney General, which contained the following quote: “Timeshare resales or donations and travel bargain schemes are often two sides of the same coin,” [redacted] said“In [redacted] , we are investigating three companies involved in these industries: [redacted] d/b/a [redacted] Association, [redacted] International, and [redacted] or [redacted] InternationalWe have referred these companies to the Office of the Attorney General for legal action to enforce subpoenas and civil investigative demands issued to them, which they have not fully complied with so far.” As an aside, this is hardly an “anonymous online posting.” When we saw this, it gave us concern, no matter was rating [redacted] has with the Revdex.comEven if [redacted] has such a rating, it is irrelevant to the question of whether they are under investigation After we purchased the membership, we were not given immediate access to the Diamond Departures website and the 1-reservation hotline, so, it is correct that we tried to cancel the membership as Mr [redacted] said, “before attempting to utilize the services.” Attempting to cancel the service however only got us expedited access to the website and toll free hotlineOnce we were given access to the website and hotline, I confirmed that Diamond Departures misrepresented the travel savings we could get at [redacted] when I called the reservation services systemI called the reservation hotline after I found out that the website did not even offer [redacted] as an available destinationAs Mr [redacted] noted from his “review of my file,” I called the reservation system on January 14, and received a quote for the upcoming stay at [redacted] that my wife and I were in the process of planningMr [redacted] stated in this response to the Revdex.com that “there was no concern regarding this quote.” This is not trueI suppose he means that he did not see any notes in the company’s system suggesting that I was not pleased with the quoteHowever, in the email that I sent Mr [redacted] on February 20, (before I filed a complain with the Revdex.com) I told him that the quote I received from the reservation hotline was higher than the price quoted on [redacted] ’s websiteI also told him that we booked the trip directly from [redacted] because the Diamond Departures price was higher Mr [redacted] never responded to my February 20, email, which, combined with a complete lack of responsiveness from Diamond Departures in [redacted] , SC, prompted me to file a complaint with the Revdex.com on March 3, Following is a copy of the February 20, email that I sent to Mr***Rather than returning my repeated phone calls, Diamond Departures seems to have passed me off to Mr*** Thank you for reaching out ***Unfortunately the message you received is not quite accurateI called because we are very dissatisfied with the difference between the pre-sale travel savings that we were told that we would realize with Diamond Departures and the reality we discovered after purchaseTwo days ago I called to speak with Ms [redacted] , the verification officer we dealt with the evening we purchasedI wanted to speak with her in particular because the day after the sale she offered me a partial refund via telephoneThe essential reason for this offer was because of several representations made by one of your sales associates that are inaccurateTomorrow morning we are traveling to [redacted] , WV for three days of skiingPre-sale we were told that we could save a lot of money with DD at [redacted] in particularWe were told this because we asked specifically about [redacted] and other places we travel with some frequencyAfter the point of sale, we found out that DD has no inventory on its website at [redacted] When we called the 1-hotline the quoted price was not only higher than [redacted] ’s website, we were further informed that the resort would impose a roughly $surcharge per night if we booked with DDOn top of that, the lodging options the 1-hotline could offer were more limited than the availability on [redacted] ’s websiteI have other examples of misrepresentations but I have limited time and wanted to respond to you timely with actual example of a travel misrepresentation that we relied upon when we purchasedNeedless to say we booked this trip through [redacted] ’s website, which is not what we planned to do at all when we purchased with DDI am not trying to be a difficult customer, but it is absolutely true that the sales person we met with misrepresented key information to usIn a high pressure sales situation, these misrepresentations induced our purchaseI realize we signed a contract, but, along the lines of Ms [redacted] offer, I would like to reach a reasonable compromise that takes into consideration the fact that our purchase was induced by misrepresentation Mr [redacted] never responded to this emailHowever his response to the Revdex.com made it sound like he reached out to me and I told him that I did not have time to “provide more specific information” regarding my concerns with Diamond DeparturesIn fact I gave him specific information regarding the difference between quote that I paid money to received with my Diamond Departures membership and the price freely available directly from [redacted] I explained to him that Diamond Departures was higher than the price quoted directly from the [redacted] resort and further told him about the $surcharge imposed on top of the higher price of accommodationI do not know how to be more specific Now it is true that I told Mr [redacted] than I have other examples of misrepresentations made by Diamond Departures before we purchasedHowever, that statement was a reference to other travel destinations ( [redacted] Beach and Key West) and were not the primary reason that I had been trying to contact the [redacted] , SC Diamond Departures location when [redacted] contacted me by email on February 20, My response to his email (copied above) was made the same day, and neither Mr [redacted] nor Diamond Departures ever attempted to make further contact with me which, again, prompted my complaint with the Revdex.com I would like to resolve this matter with Diamond DeparturesIf Mr [redacted] is the person to deal with instead of Diamond Departures then I will gladly speak with himHowever, at this time I feel like the response Mr [redacted] filed misrepresented our email conversation and did not fully address the complaint I filed with the Revdex.com against Diamond Departures for misrepresenting key aspects of its service and inducing us to make an expensive purchase based on those misrepresentations

[redacted] Please accept this response on behalf of Diamond Departures My company in an independent consultant who works with Diamond Departures and Reservation Services to assist members who have issues with their membership I have reviewed Mr [redacted] file As he mentioned, I did reach out to him and he responded stating he was headed out of town and did not have time to provide more specific information regarding his concernsFrom the complaint, it appears that Mr [redacted] determined to cancel his membership based on anonymous on-line postings before attempting to utilize the services For example, the claim *** is under investigation by several Attorney General offices In fact, [redacted] has been in business for over years and maintains an A rating with the Revdex.comThe member portal documents one reservation request by Mr [redacted] for [redacted] That request was put in on 1-14-and [redacted] responded the same day with a quote for the [redacted] *** There was no concern regarding this quoteAll members are guaranteed the lowest price on any accommodations any time both in network and out of network If Mr [redacted] will provide me with any additional information regarding quotes requested or received, I will be happy to investigate those on his behalf and assure him that he will receive the benefits and services he is entitled to under the terms of his agreement [redacted] ***President/CEO

Please accept this response on behalf of Diamond Departures As noted in the original response, I only see one request for a travel quote and a price was given for $for a weekly stay in ***, WV Mr*** makes several references his ability to provide documentation of multiple instances where quotes provided by *** are higher Perhaps it would be more expeditious to provide me with that information and more specifically with the confirmation of his booking the same property and dates as quoted by *** That will give me something to work with
Diamond Departures disputes the claim that the ***s were pressured into the agreement given that they executed a document prior to executing the membership Agreement that states in bold print: "Therefore, having made an informed judgement to join Diamond Departures today, do you, without duress, authorize the the execution of your membership agreement in accordance with the date shown above? I acknowledge that Diamond Departures provides a wide variety of vacation opportunities and that I am not purchasing to access a specific property, specific cruise or to replace an existing vacation"This statement is executed by all parties to the transaction prior to entering into the membership AgreementFor the record, any statement posted on the Attorney General of *** website is immaterial to this agreement but *** *** *** is not and has never been under any investigation in the State of ***
Regardless, if Mr*** will submit to me any documentation he has showing that quotes provided by *** *** were purchased elsewhere for a higher price and I will process the refunds he is entitled to in accordance to the terms of the membership agreement Please submit the information via email to meThank you,

[redacted]Please accept this response on behalf of Diamond Departures.   My company in an independent consultant who works with Diamond Departures and Reservation Services to assist members who have issues with their membership.  I have reviewed Mr. [redacted] file.  As he...

mentioned, I did reach out to him and he responded stating he was headed out of town and did not have time to provide more specific information regarding his concerns.
From the complaint, it appears that Mr. [redacted] determined to cancel his membership based on anonymous on-line postings before attempting to utilize the services.  For example, the claim [redacted] is under investigation by several Attorney General offices.  In fact, [redacted] has been in business for over 32 years and maintains an A rating with the Revdex.com.
The member portal documents one reservation request by Mr. [redacted] for [redacted].  That request was put in on 1-14-2015 and [redacted] responded the same day with a quote for the [redacted].   There was no concern regarding this quote.
All members are guaranteed the lowest price on any accommodations any time both in network and out of network.  If Mr. [redacted] will provide me with any additional information regarding quotes requested or received, I will be happy to investigate those on his behalf and assure him that he will receive the benefits and services he is entitled to under the terms of his agreement.
