Took my fog for Grooming on 6/16/20 as many other times and I ask the customer service lady if I could pay with my debit card and she told me there was a charge fee of $3.00 for using the card wich I told her I was paying with a personal check instead made the check and gave it to her, not receipt was giving to me for the grooming I assume because I paid with a check. I notice next to the counter a little wire basket with different ladies wallets for sale and I ask the ladies how much they was and she said $25.00 and I told her will holding my debit card no $3.00 dollars fee right?? And she said no so I buy the wallet and pay with my debit card. She told me she send me the receipt via email and I said ok, thank you. I got home and I proceeded to check the receipt on my email and I was surprised to see a charge for $28.00 for the wallet when she told me the price was $25.00.
I call the business today and ask the same lady why she charge me $3.00 extra for using my debit card when I ask her and she told me no extra charge and she told me she charge $3.00 on anybody to use a card. I told her I thought it was only for the Grooming service that the $3.00 fee was charge with the card and she said no it was for anything in the store...a card is use you get charge $3.00 extra she said something about the owner getting charge at the bank. It's not fair to the customers to have to pay an extra fee for using a card we don't have to pay their fee from the bank if there's really a fee.
Response to Complaint #***We have been in business since 2015. We have always given our customers the option to pay for services or retail items with cash, check or credit card. The credit card system we use charges a percentage on every individual transaction. As a small business we unfortunately cannot absorb the fees. We allow our customers to choose how they would like to pay. The complainant has been a customer since April 19, 2017 and has been aware of all three forms of payment. She has paid cash, card and check (which she has bounced in the past). The day of the complaint 6/16/2020 she wrote a check (which we still allow her to do) and was informed of the fee as does every single customer who chooses to use a credit card and she opted to not use her card and wrote the check. She then decided to purchase something else and used her card (which she was informed minutes before of the fee and is clearly posted at the register) where she was charged $25 and $3 fee. We do not force anyone to use their credit card even now during Covid-19 Pandemic, we still take all three payment methods. We do not typically provide receipts on checks or cash unless requested. All receipts are electronic and can be texted or emailed per the customers’ request. When a credit card has been used at Diamond in the RUFF the register system will recognize it and automatically send a receipt and if it is a new customer it prompts automatically if the customer would like a receipt. When a receipt is requested they receive an electronic receipt immediately at the time of payment.Best,***Diamond in the RUFF Grooming and Spa
