Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:   This is the third time I have had to take this ring back to the store because a diamond fell out. The first two times I was not asked to present a proof of purchase because they know me and they know I bought the ring from them. So why is it now that this is the third time this flawed piece of jewelry has lost a stone that they are asking for a receipt. This is completely unacceptable and a dishonest tactic to avoid accepting responsibility. I want Ali to be a man and and an honest business and take ownership of the problem and do the right thing and fix it.

Regards,[redacted]

In response to your letter dated December 10,2014, we are submitting die following:1. Customer paid $680.00 for three pc rings (Trio Set) not $900.00 (See attached receipt)2. We warranty the authenticity of the diamond and the gold of the jeweler we sell in our store. We do not warranty or...

guarantee the jewelry against any damage. This Is dearly displayed on the receipts we issue.( see Receipt for store policy)3. Customer broi^ht the ring after nearly a year had passed since the purchase with missing diamond. Customer claims the diamond fell off and could not tie recovered.4. We went out of our way and offered a replacement diamond of the same size andquality as the one that customer lost.In view of the fact that we do not guarantee any repairs to the jewelry sold from our stores, and the feet that we have offered to take a loss and give a replacement diamond to the customer, it is unreasonable for the customer to ask us also to pay for the labor to install the diamond.

Dear [redacted],
We ask [redacted] to provide us purchase store receipt.
Thanks,

Review: Needed watch batteries replaced. Tried to use coupons but [redacted] told us the coupons were no good and the store does not give $2.99 replacement batteries. Instead of having several watches repaired we had only 4 at $4.99 each. Picked up repaired watches and went home. This was done July **, 2013. Upon taking the watches out of a bag that was given to for the watches by the store on July **, 2013 there was a flyer that the store had in the bag indicating watch betteries repaired at $2.99. I returned to the store July **, 2013 to talk to the people in the store ([redacted] & [redacted]) about the flyer in the bag. Again I was told that it was an old flyer and [redacted] said she did not put the flyer in the bag. I told her it was in the bag and the store should honor the price of $2.99. [redacted] told me that I had to wait until Tuesday July **, when the sales mamager would then be in the store. I did not agree and asked them to honor coupon and settle with the manager when she returned. But they refused.Desired Settlement: That the store live by any adverisement that they produce meaning what was in the bag the store gave me to carry the watches home in. If they have expired advertisement, then the store should make sure that they destroy all forms that would lead to faulty advertisement. They should honor the coupon at $2.99 and not the charge of $4.99. Refund the difference between the prices along with the required tax charged.

Response:

We will cheerfully refund the $8.66 the customer is requesting in their complaint. Evidently, our sales associate was not entirely clear on our company policy regarding the redemption of old or expired coupons and should have honored the coupon/flyer presented by the customer. We will clarify the policy for all of our employees and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Review: On September *, 2013, my husband and I submitted an order for Diamond Jewelers to complete. We requested that two marquise shaped diamonds that we owned be made into 14k white gold lever back earrings. We also submitted an order for a 1.3 carat diamond we owned to be set into a 14k white gold prong style pendant with bale. We paid for the order in full on 9/*/13.

Because of an unrelated incident at Diamond Jewelers that happened on 9/**/13, and which is documented in another Revdex.com complaint we filed, we asked for the diamonds and materials returned to us. We were given the two marquise shaped diamonds. We were told that we would be phoned when the 14k white gold pendant and the 14k white gold lever back earrings we had ordered and paid for came in so that we could pick them up. We repeatedly phoned Diamond Jewelers. During each phone call we were told the items had not been received by Diamond Jewelers and that they (diamond Jewelers) would call (us) when they (the items) came in. To date, we have not heard from Diamond Jewelers.Desired Settlement: We would like to be given the items we ordered or we would like to be refunded the $146.64 USD we paid.

Review: On 9/**/13, my husband and I brought two rings into Diamond Jewelers. One ring was 14k yellow gold with a .50 carat center marquise diamond. The other ring was a platinum ring with a .50 center marquise diamond as well as eight (8) baguette diamonds equaling approximately .90 total carat weight. These baguette diamonds were set on either side of the center diamond.

We requested that the center diamond of each ring be removed and set aside for another job (these diamonds were going to be used to make earrings by Diamond Jewelers) and that the settings be of the rings be returned to us. While we waited, the jeweler performed this service. We did not speak to the jeweler directly with our instructions. We communicated the instructions through a saleswoman who, in turn, relayed them to the jeweler on staff.

Once the work was done, the above mentioned saleswoman put the materials (what we assumed were the settings) into a small plastic bag and handed the closed bag to us.

When we opened the bag on 9/**/13, we realized that the jeweler had taken the main diamond from the 14k yellow gold ring as requested. The platinum ring, however, had all of the diamonds removed. This meant that the main diamond (positioned in the center of the ring) was removed as well as the side set baguette diamonds. The side diamonds from this setting were not present in the bag, nor were they supposed to be used for any other purpose for which Diamond Jewelers would have removed them or set them aside. Instead, we asked for the setting to be returned to us intact. As soon as we realized this error, we called Diamond Jewelers and were put in touch with the [redacted], a woman named [redacted]. [redacted] stated/claimed two things:

1. [redacted] claimed we had been given all the diamonds from the setting.

2. [redacted] claimed that we "asked for the platinum ring to be scrapped" but, "considering the phone call" (the call we were presently engaged in), we "must have changed our minds" about "scrapping the ring".

[redacted] offered no other explanations. [redacted] was not present at Diamond Jewelers on 9/**/13.

Both of these claims/accusations were false - we had not been given back the diamonds from the setting, nor had we asked for the ring to be scrapped, or the side diamonds to be removed, in the first place.

We believe we can prove this because we were NOT PAID for the scrapped material. If we had asked for the platinum ring to be scrapped, we would 1. not have gotten any materials back in a plastic bag (that is, we would not have been given the gold setting, or the platinum setting or any of the diamonds). Furthermore, as mentioned above, we would have been paid some percentage of the worth of the raw materials (the gold, platinum and diamonds) had this been our request. We believe Diamond Jewelers will be unable to provide a legitimate receipt of a "scrapping" service provided to us because we did not request it, and we were not given money for the materials. In plain terms, there is no evidence to back up the claim that we asked for the ring to be scrapped but "changed our minds". In fact, the platinum ring missing all its diamonds was a family heirloom in which we intended to set another, larger diamond.

As such, we immediately requested that the ring be fixed and the side diamonds of the setting be replaced. We were told by [redacted] that Diamond Jewelers would assume responsibility for the missing side diamonds and replace them, but that we would have to pay for the materials and labor to have the ring repaired. [redacted] estimated the cost of the repair in the following breakdown:

1. Cost to build a mold - $450 USD

2. Cost to cast the mold - $150 USD

3. Cost of materials (in this case, platinum) needed to rebuild ring - $1300.00 USD

We rejected this offer as we did not feel the responsibility of the repair was ours as we did not create the need for the repair - Diamond Jewelers was directly responsible for the need to repair the ring.

We returned immediately to Diamond Jewelers to collect the center diamonds (from the rings) that we were going to have made into earrings because we felt they (Diamond Jewelers) could not be trusted.

We were told that the owner of Diamond Jewelers, a man identified as [redacted] was aware of our situation and would be in touch with us.

To date, we have not heard back from Diamond Jewelers, or anyone representing them, regarding this matter.

We filed a police report documenting this incident.

We have supporting receipts documenting our transactions with Diamond Jewelers during this time period.Desired Settlement: We request a replacement for the damaged platinum ring or a cash refund equivalent.

Review: Illegally agreed to financing with [redacted] Financing by authorizing my electronic signature.Desired Settlement: I do not want to pay for an item I never received or agreed to financing with. I want nothing to do with this store after this experience.
