This all started in June 2016, so I am unsure why this is being brought to the attention of the Revdex.com nowI shop a lot at *** and I know that *** will warranty a deck for up to years as long as the customer doesn’t change design or screwsWhen I initially started working with the consumer,
they wanted an elaborate deck ($30,000)I told them as your contractor this is all wrong, won’t work based on where they live, but in the end I will do what the customer wantsShe ended up settling with me on a designMind you, this has been a contractor’s nightmareWe would start constructing the deck and come back the next morning and it would look completely different from how we left itThey would add their own work on or remove what we had builtEvery morning when we would show up on the jobsite, we would have to clean the area, because it was constantly covered in beer cans the couple had had the night beforeThey would drink in the evening and “decide to help us build.” My third week in there I had other contractors tell me she owes them over $20,and to run from the jobShe became upset because what she wanted didn’t fit safety regulationsWhen they would do work, they would use lug nuts, screws, and such that were not allowed on that material, as they would void the manufacturer’s warrantyTheir pool wasn’t level and so we could not build the deck around it until it wasI offered to do the ground work to level it out, but they insisted they would do that work themselvesWe had to wait weeks for them to level itI put up with this because I live in the same small townShe ended up calling *** and pretending to be me and placed an order for more boards*** has been made fully aware of what is going on and how they should not allow that anymoreShe tried to return boards that she had drawn smiley faces on in permanent markerShe mentions there were no concrete in the posts, but there were and she was even left with extra concrete that she threw outWhen I left the job, everything was up and done except pieces of vinyl skirting and a gateShe tore the gate down times because she didn’t like to look of itIt was ups to speculations with Illinois law (which I am required to do)I eventually had to quit the jobI could not deal with them anymore as I was constantly rebuilding what I had already built that they would tear down the next nightShe still owes $in labor and materialsI also want to add that their daughter backed out of their driveway (who was guided by the drunk father) and hit our brand new work vehicleWe had to turn that into insurance
