June 13, 2016 [redacted] Re: ID [redacted] Dear Ms. [redacted], I am aware of Ms. [redacted]’s dissatisfaction with the tailoring services she recently received from our organization. Enclosed, please find a check payable to Ms. [redacted] in...

the amount she requested. At the same time, I would like to clarify some remarks in her statement. Ms. [redacted] stated that she was quoted a cost of $6.00 to $7.00 per patch and that this was agreeable to her. She then states that she “was horrified” we would overcharge her at approximately $10.00 per patch. Ms. [redacted] was charged $6.72 per patch (she had 2 patches removed and 2 replaced) and was charged $7.30 for the cleaning and pressing of the blazer. Total amount due for this garment $20.74. All garments that are not brand new with the original store tags still attached are cleaned before our seamstress works on them (we do this to ensure she is working on only clean garments). I wanted to take this opportunity to make clear that Ms. [redacted] was charged accordingly with the estimate provided to her. We attempted to rectify the situation by offering to have the patches re-sewn, free of charge, over the same location the original patches were placed (the seamstress determined the original patches were not sewn in the correct location and therefore centered them on the sleeve, resulting in the original stitching being visible); however Ms. [redacted] declined this option. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [redacted].  Sincerely,Charlie B[redacted]Diane Cleaners, Inc.

Review: I am a member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. On May 26, 2016, I dropped off an Air Force Service Blazer, a Service Blouse, and an ABU blouse all to get old rank removed from the sleeves and new rank sewn on. I was told that the seamstress makes her own prices as she does them and they are typically $6-$7. I said okay and was told that I could pick them up the following Thursday, June 2nd after 3 pm.

On June 2nd around 5 pm, I go to pick up my order. The total price was $61.12, each top pricing about $10 per patch, not $7. I was horrified they would overcharge so much from what I was told. But the worst part happened when I arrived home. I noticed that the left arm on my $100 Service Blazer was ruined. The coat was issued to me in June 2014 from the Air Force with the rank sewed on in accordance to the Air Force Instruction. Instead of taking off the old rank and sewing the new rank directly on top of top, the seamstress sewed the rank about half an itch over and above. This makes the old stitch pattern visible, and therefore unserviceable. I need to return it to my supply unit for a new coat. I called the store immediately and was told to come in when the owner would be there.

Today Tuesday, June 7th I went in with my coat, and receipts. When the owner, approached the counter, he seemed to know why I was there. He told me that apparently the rank that was on there originally was put on wrong. So according to him, the Air Force sewed the rank on wrong. He told me that the seamstress "fixed" the stripes. I told him that the stitch pattern makes it unserviceable, and in addition the new rank is not equally centered on the sleeve. He refused to give me my money back. I would like the refund for the service blazer, $20.74.Desired Settlement: I would like the refund for the service blazer, $20.74.
