Dicicco Auto Sales II Reviews (1)

Review: I went to Damar Cars in April with my father to look at a 2002 Saab 9-3 convertible. When I arrived the car was in the back of a garage blocked in by at least 20 other cars. I spoke with one of the mechanics about the car and if it was worth buying he insured me that the car was in perfect working order however I still wanted to test drive the vehicle. When the car was turned on and driven for one minute the check engine light came on. I asked why was the light on and the owner who had finally arrived said it was "probably a sensor that had been hit when it was power washed." I asked if they had a machine that it could be plugged into so that we could see if that was indeed the reason because I was slightly skeptical. He said that it would probably go off after we drove it further so his mechanic came back and drove it around the building which was not very large but took a conspicuously long time to do. When he came back the check engine light was off. He said it had only needed to be run. Before we could purchase the car we had to get a temporary plate and put it under my insurance since none of the cars on the lot were insured. When I came back I purchased the car and put the temporary tag on. As soon as the car was started the check engine light came on. My father went back inside to talk to the owner and he said there was no warrantee on the car. It is purchased as is and he had no financial liability to help with repair. However like I mentioned before he said there was nothing wrong with the car and that the check engine light had "gone off on its own." He said if we drove it some the check engine light would probably just go off. As we drove it to DE the traction control light came on as well and the car started to shake violently. The car refused to turn on after we arrived home. Since then I have had to replace the throttle body (an engine part), the alternator, hoses, spark plugs, the gas cap, the struts and the car still will not start. When I called him he refused to help.Desired Settlement: I purchased the car for 3,700$. Since then the repairs that I have payed for are over 2,000$. I am only requesting that I get the 3,700$ back that I payed for the car since I was lied to when it was purchased.

I am rejecting this response because:

What he is saying is a lie. The light was not turned off in front of us and he EXPLICITLY STATED that the light went off on its own. If we had been told we wouldn't have purchased the car. Also the parts that were offered were from a vehicle that does not run at all. Also the only thing that he admitted was wrong with the car was the convertible top gets stuck sometimes when you try to put it down. He said that was the reason he lowered the price of the vehicle. Once again if I knew that the car had major engine problems I would have never purchased this vehicle.
