I sent my fiance with my 05 GMC for an inspection and tire rotation, which I had called and made the appointment for with [redacted]. She calls me after and informs me that I had failed the inspection but received a free oil change. She told me it had not passed [redacted] to faulty suspension components and that it would cost around $700 for the repairs. Later that day I was able to return to [redacted] with my vehicle and speak with Lee. When I asked him about the oil change, he said it was accident and I wasn't charged. I asked what type of oil was used and at first he did know, later answering that it was semi-synthetic. I run full synthetic and had the receipt in the glove box to prove it. That didn't seem to matter to Lee as I was already provided a free oil change and rotation. There is a $50 difference in price between the oil I was provided versus synthetic. I next dealt with [redacted] the technician so he could show me what he had found was faulty. Before the lift was raised up [redacted] informed me that they had "wiggled" the front tires (by hand)and that was how they had determined the vehicle had faulty suspension. I responded that was not the proper way to inspect a vehicles suspension. My vehicle was placed up on a lift and we both examined the idler and pitman arms. Upon further inspection the technician said "it wasn't that bad and I could probably replace just the pitman arm and be fine." I questioned [redacted], "It isn't that bad but I was failed for it? My fianc was quoted $700 for this repair." [redacted] appeared surprised by the amount she was quoted and that he would do another for just the pitman arm. Only 2 hours had passed [redacted] the time she was quoted versus me and now the work would only cost around $250 including alignment. I personally have over 10 years in the automotive industry and did not feel my vehicle was inspected properly. I brought my vehicle to another garage the following day (I had no previous experience with) and was provided a passing [redacted] Inspection and tire rotationDesired SettlementI would have appreciated an offer for a synthetic oil change at a discounted price when it was due to be changed in the future. This is not my 1st experience with this location but it will be my last.
