Hello,In regards to the work we did on Brian R*** boat we looked over the work order and spoke with all the parties involved. With estimates you can never be exact on everything, especially for when the unexpected comes up, such as on this boat it was much more difficult to install the
trolling motor than we had anticipated. Another thing is we have been extremely busy with service and sales with a back log of two to three weeks. We gave the customer the estimate in about early June and scheduled the install for two weeks out on June 24th. When he brought the boat in to be worked on along with the planned things the customer added on to check the speedometer to insure that it works. Also he requested that we add on a battery charger that was not on the original estimate. Also the customer did not bring up that we had made him an estimate and it was not marked on the work order. Due to the busy season we also did not recall that we had made the estimate for the customer. The technician working on the boat was not aware of said estimate and did not know to call if we were going in to deep. Also when the estimate was made it was only done with pictures and we didn't have the actual boat to get an more exact price, and we could not have been aware of the extra time needed to mount the electric trolling motor. In response to his complaints we did call the customer and talked with him with some issues such as we needed a mount for the fishfinder. We didn't have an exact price and we quoted him between to dollars for the fishfinder mount. Also when we spoke to him on the phone he mentioned that he didn't need it right away and that gave us time to catch up on other jobs. We did get it finished before his planned trip the following week. We also spent a lot more time that we didn't charge him for as his boat was never designed for the electric trolling motor as we had to dig out the marine foam from the inside of the bowand make a mount that would work good and be durable. After we installed everything we did take a moment to fire up his motor to make sure it was charging the batteries and we did find he needed trim and tilt fluid added. Everything checked out and he was ready for a safe trip on the water. One thing about the battery as well is there is a core charge of dollars that we didn't talk about, if the customer does have a old equal sized battery to get rid of he can be refunded the dollars. In good faith we will refund dollars, of which was taken off the initial bill when Brian picked up the boat. is for wire as talking with the technician he did make a mistake and overcharged for the wiring. The additional is for labor refunded and the will be a check sent in the mail to Brian at his listed address
