Our entire inventory is automatically listed online as soon as we take the vehicle in, either by purchase, or trade inFrom the very beginning, while we were taking this vehicle in on trade, based on information we received from the previous customer and visual inspection we knew that the vehicle had had extensive body damageWe were unable to verify the structural integrity of the vehicleSince the accident was reported, that vehicle had been in and out of the shop many timesWe also knew from prior experience that the Mercedes Scan be problematicBased upon an excessive amount of the vehicle being repainted, and no guarantee of what kind of repairs had been done to the vehicle, we made the decision internally to not sell this vehicle publicallyWe explained to Mr [redacted] our position on the car many timesHe kept insisting on wanting the vehicle even after we told him that we did not want to sell the vehicleWe did not feel comfortable selling this vehicle to anyone without being able to fully back the vehicle, and in this case we simply could not do soShaun W [redacted] General Sales Manager Dick's Mackenzie Ford

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:It doesn't matter whether or not they felt they could back the car or whether or not the cars are problematicWhat the dealership fails to understand every time is that I had the car inspected independentlySo no matter what their unsubstantiated gut feeling about the condition of the vehicle was, a LASE certified Master Tech judged the car to be in good working sellable conditionAnd I had been approved for a bumper to bumper aftermarket warranty for anything and everything that could go wrongI told this to both salesmen and they still refused to do business with meThe dealership cannot claim to be the only party who fully understood the condition the vehicle was inThe dealership wasted my time and my money, and I think I am at least due the $for the inspection I attached to my first complaint that proves they are not being completely truthful.Sincerely, [redacted] ***

MrM*** submitted an online credit application, authorizing us permission to pull credit, and submit the application to lenders on 9/27/On his second visit to our store, Mr*** agreed to purchase a Ford F-During the sales process, Mr
*** also completed another finance/credit application and was clear at this point that he was pre approved with Capital OneThe pre approval with Capital One still required us to submit his loan applicationAs part of our process we require a hand signed application in addition to the electronic credit applicationMost lenders including Capital One require the hard copy of the credit application to be included with the loan application packageCapital One pre approval that was brought in had a variance on the interest rateWe explained that we would need to send it over to Capital One for approval to get a final interest rateCapital One auto approved the deal, but at the high end of the rate spectrumAs part of our customer service process, we always try to find competitive terms for our customersMr*** was no exception to this; Unfortunately Capital One was the only lender that approved the dealWe take all credit inquiries seriously and only submit an application with written and or online consent from a customer.I understand that Mr*** is concerned about inquires on his credit reportI have provided information from Experian, Equifax, and myfico.com to assure him that the inquiries made to his credit, will not adversely affect his credit scoreI have included a copy of the credit application, the online credit application and pre approval. If Mr*** has any additional questions or concerns, he is free to call me directly at *** or email at ***Equifax.com:The 30-day grace period is not a credit mythIt’s probably a smart idea to compare rates and check out loan offers from several lenders before making a purchase of a car or a house.Under circumstances, if you apply for a mortgage or an auto loan, any inquiries related to that application made within days count as ONE inquiryEven if you visit twenty lenders and all of them pull a copy of your credit report, those twenty inquiries should count as only one inquiry.Experian.com:When shopping for a car, it is common for auto dealers to submit your information to multiple lenders in an effort to find the lowest interest rate and most favorable loan termsThis practice allows you to benefit from lenders competing for your businessThe same practice is used for mortgage lending.Experian lists each inquiry that is made into your file for two years, so that you have a complete record of who has reviewed your credit historyHowever, you don’t need to worry about inquiries for auto and mortgage loans affecting your credit scores.Lenders recognize that shopping for only one car or mortgage does not mean you are trying to open multiple new accountsCredit scoring systems have been designed to account for that practice and include rules such as counting the same type of inquiry as only one inquiry as long as they are made within a short period of time.Myfico.com:What to know about "rate shopping."Looking for a mortgage, auto or student loan may cause multiple lenders to request your credit report, even though you are only looking for one loanTo compensate for this, FICO Scores ignore mortgage, auto, and student loan inquiries made in the days prior to scoringSo, if you find a loan within days, the inquiries won't affect your scores while you're rate shoppingIn addition, FICO Scores look on your credit report for mortgage, auto, and student loan inquiries older than daysIf your FICO Scores find some, your scores will consider inquiries that fall in a typical shopping period as just one inquiryFor FICO Scores calculated from older versions of the scoring formula, this shopping period is any day spanFor FICO Scores calculated from the newest versions of the scoring formula, this shopping period is any day spanEach lender chooses which version of the FICO scoring formula it wants the credit reporting agency to use to calculate your FICO Scores
