Review: I purchased a bottle of witch hazel under the Dickinson's brand name; it had a card on it advertizing full rebate when the card was returned with receipt as proof of purchase. I completed the card, sent it in with the original purchase receipt, and received a check for $4.99 after a reasonable period of time. I cashed the check to my local bank account, since there is not an "[redacted]" around me. The check was returned to me insufficient funds due to "account closed" and I was charged a $15 fee from my bank. I'm not sure if this is a scam to get people's information/banking information, or just poor banking management.

I have received your letter with regard to check #[redacted] for consumer [redacted]. Dickinson Brands currently uses the serves provided by [redacted] to fulfill all consumer rebate requests. All checks mailed out by [redacted] clearl y indicate the expiration date, noted under the pay to amount. This "void after date" is the last date the check can be cashed. Check # [redacted] had a void after date printed on the check of 8/3/13.

If you attempt to cash a check after this date the check will be returned to the consumer and their bank may charge a fee. Please note the check was expired and the bank account is not closed .

Dickinson Brands will reimburse [redacted] for the cost of the rebate check in the amount of

$4.99. Since the check was expired and the bank account is not closed, we recommend that [redacted] contact her local bank to be refunded $15 bank charge.
