I am writing this review on behalf of my father, Mr. Morris D. F[redacted] Jr., a 75-year old, retired D.C. Firefighter.
On August 16, 2016, my dad had a service technician from [redacted]’s Air Conditioning and Heating, Inc., come to his residence because his air conditioning system was not working. He was informed by the technician that he needed a coil, and the cost would be $1,546. At that point, my father told the technician that he had a warranty/contract with [redacted]’s, which he has had since 1983 (33 years), at a yearly price of $325. To his dismay, my father was told that the warranty DID NOT COVER the coil.
Subsequently, my father called another company, The HT Group, LLC, to get a second opinion. The technician came to his residence on August 20, 2016, and checked the a/c unit. It was discovered that, in fact, it did not need a new coil, but a new pump! The cost of the pump was $570 - - a far cry from $1,546 - - which he gladly paid.
My father is on a fixed income and has paid a total of $10,725 for a warranty from [redacted]’s, which appears to be WORTHLESS! For the coil to not be covered is ridiculous—especially since the problem wasn’t the coil anyway! As a result, my father WILL NOT be renewing his contract with [redacted]’s Air Conditioning and Heating, Inc., and [redacted]’s should do the right thing and reimburse my dad for the $570 that he paid for the new pump, especially since the service contract was not honored. This would go above and beyond great customer service!
