PURCHASE - ORDER #771555102545 (1ST) order 771552980152 (2nd) orders
I recently made a purchase on line with Dicks sporting goods. I spoke to a customer service representative who was assisting me in applying 20% off my purchase. Since I initiated this on line, she told me to cancel and she will place order on line with me. We spent about 25 minutes and although she was helpful, we got disconnected and she never called back. As a result I contacted Dicks and started over again. I placed another order and when I was sent email, I realized that the cardholder name was different than billing name. I contacted Dicks again and they assured me that this would not go through the credit because information was wrong. They suggested leaving it alone and it will cancel automatically. It was suggested I place another order which I did with her. When I received other order I realized she charged me for shipping which she should not have because shipping was free due to cost of order. I called back and she assured me that $5.99 shipping would be refunded. I thought I was done but no. A few days later, I see that both orders went through. I called again and they said that I should call my credit card company to inquire why shipment was made with incorrect billing information. They referred me back to Dicks. So needless to say, I was back and forth. I was told by Dicks to have recipient ship original items back to Dicks for full refund. This was a birthday present and it was embarrassing to have to ask the recipient to take to federal express to bring back when she doesn't have a car. I called Dicks back and was told that they would send federal express to pick up items from her home. However, items were not all coming at the same time. Dicks tried to reschedule but were unable. As a result recipient was sent a label and gave whatever items came back to federal express. Well, the next day federal express brought back same package to my friend because label he placed came back to recipient. I called them again to complain and after back and forth, they suggest she brings items back to any Dicks location. This is absolutely absurd and I wish I was able to cancel the entire order. However, I was in the middle of duplicate transaction. Everyone from Dicks said "I am sorry" but really didn't help in anyway but make it worse. In the end, my friend had to arrange to go to federal express with the original order to send back for my refund. This was one of the few times I ordered on line from Dicks sporting goods and it will be the last. The was a horrendous experience. When I received refund all prices were different and it was very difficult to ensure refund was correct amount. I was even promised a gift certificate for my troubles. That too, never showed nor do I expect it too. I spoke to representatives, service managers and went as high up on the corporate ladder as I could via phone. In good conscience I would never recommend ordering on line from this company.

Called to speak with the Deli Department regarding ordering meat and cheese trays, sausage and cheese trays, cookies, veges and brownies for next week, as well as trying to arrange Festival Sunrise Breakfast for 30 people for next Friday and was told, "No - no orders for next week". I understand you may be busy with Thanksgiving catering orders, but there was no discussion of pick up earlier in the week vs delivery , nothing - just we won't do it." Very surprised and unhappy at their lack of attempt or discussion of trying to do business with us.

I have placed an online order during the busy holiday season. I understand that it takes longer to get things during this time of year. I called to check on the status as it was "unable to find my order" on the online tracking. I paid for "overnight" delivery, which advertised delivery by 12/19 but when I still didn't have it by mail time after the weekend, I called the customer service line. The woman explained that their shipping doesn't include a 1-2 day processing time, and that my package was shipped and should be there within 24 hours. She then stated that my tracking number would be emailed to me within 24 hours (why it is coming at the same time I am unsure). She seemed confused when I asked her what the difference between what the shipping charges were, as their website advertised "free shipping" by 12/21, while I paid for the shipping ($15.99) that said it would be delivered by 12/19 (but should be showing up 12/20). If I order from them in the future, I will not be paying for the overnight or express shipping.
