From: DICKY SMALLSDate: Tue, Jan 10, at 1:PMSubject: Re: Complaint ID #***To: ***@myRevdex.com.org On November 10th 2016, *** *** brought his *** *** with 131,miles on the odometer into my establishment with the
original complaint that his car had just started smoking in the parking lot andhis door lock was not working*** *** also stated that he may need an oil changeOur diagnostic service revealed a ruptured upper radiator hose, a leaking upper expansion tank hose, a faulty coolantpump which had activated the check engine light, and oil leaks from the oil filter housing gasket and valve coversUnbeknownst to *** ***, the faulty coolant pump restricted coolant flow resulting in a pressure buildup in the upper radiator hose that led to its rupture. We provided *** *** with an estimate for the ruptured upper radiator hose, replacement of the coolant pump and thermostat, and for a door lock actuator and new keyWe recommended replacing the thermostat inconjunction with the coolant pump because the life span of these two parts is similar and it is most cost effective to replace them both simultaneouslyThe estimate for these three jobs totaled $2,053.06.Two additional parts were inadvertently left off and the estimate should have totaled $2,262.22. *** *** stated that he was unemployed at the time, so out of the kindness of our heart we gave *** *** a discount on the work reducing the price from $2,to $1,In addition, we allowed *** *** to pay for the work in installmentsOn November 10th *** *** paid $1,of the $1,balance and we released his vehicle to himHe paid the remainder of the balance on November 22nd 2016.On December 2nd 2016, *** ***'s vehicle was towed back to our establishment because it had overheatedUpon inspection of the vehicle we discovered the cylinder head hose that attaches directly beneath the oil filter housing gasket had rupturedThis hose rupture was most likely caused by the oil leak from the oil filter housing gasketIn light of *** ***'s employment and financial situation, we replaced this hose at no cost to *** *** although it was completely unrelated to the repairs we had previously performedThe costfor the repair of this hose is $including tax and labor. On the evening of December 5th, *** *** drove his vehicle back into our establishment with steam visibly escaping from under the hood Upon inspection of the vehicle, we observed that there was a puncturein the front of the radiatorWe replaced the radiator and provided an invoice for part cost and that excluded labor for a total of $287.56 which *** *** refused to payThis repair should have cost *** ***an additional $578.25. Although this was a new problem that was totally unrelated to any of the work we had previously performed, we released the vehicle to **without any additional payment. On the morning of Saturday December 17th, *** *** drove his vehicle back to our establishment complaining of a "lack of power" when driving. Our master technician went on a test drive with *** *** toduplicate and observe the issue. Upon completion of the test drive our master technician ran a diagnostic scan of *** ***'s vehicle in his presence which revealed a misfire on cylinder #*When our mastertechnician informed *** *** that the issue mas most like an ignition coil, *** *** recalled that he had had "a single" ignition coil replaced previously in Atlanta, GA. Our master technician then informed *** *** that it is recommended that all ignition coils be replaced simultaneously, but in order to quickly resolve the issue, replaced the faulty coil for *** *** at no cost. The cost of replacing one ignition coil would normally be $including tax and labor.*** *** was scheduled to return on Thursday December 22nd to troubleshoot an issue with his new replacement keyUnfortunately, our mater technician had a family medical emergency and had to leave ourfacility unexpectedly. On the morning of Saturday December 24th, *** *** returned to our establishment complaining again of a "loss of power". Our master technician immediately ran another diagnostic scanof the vehicle which revealed a misfire on cylinder #Again, our technician replaced the faulty ignition coil at no cost to *** *** ($163.88).On December 30th, 2016, *** *** wrote an extremely negative review.**failed to inform *** readers that he received a second fully functional replacement key on January 7th In addition, the "smoking issue" that he believes to be related to the cooling system repairs we made is due to the existing oil leaks. At Dicky Smalls Automotive we treat our customers like familyWe take pride in the fact that we offer dealer quality service, at an affordable cost. It is disheartening that a customer we provided services totaling $3,to, for which they only paid $1,858.06, would write such a negative review after we went above and beyond to assist them in keeping their vehicle on the road.--Thank you for your business!Dicky Smalls Auto

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Hello,The response from Dicky Smalls Automotive is inaccurate.  The personal jab of my being unemployed (untrue)and the services described being rendered by the shop as out of the kindness of their hearts is also inaccurate and done entirely in retaliation to my leaving a review of the business on [redacted].  I was unemployed in 2015 when I began being a customer to the shop for services prior to those in question. His total for rendered services being originally in the range of $3400, then being reduced to roughly $1800 is wholly inaccurate.  Every penny spent at this shop was transacted via debit or credit card and can provide receipts to corroborate this.Regarding the replacement key that I referenced in my review, I stated that upon its date (12/30/16) that I had not received the key nor given a date as to when it would be expected.  The key was received after the publication of my review by Eli on 1/7/17 .  The smoking issue that I noted as outstanding is still in effect as I’ve seemingly paid $2000 to have a smoke issue resolved and a new key and received a new key out of the deal.  I have text message threads for each and every repair and date done to my vehicle with photos sent by the owner Eli for this time period.  I also have records from AAA for each time the vehicle was towed to the location to corroborate and substantiate the bulk of Eli’s response as an outright lie.  I also have credit card receipts noting that the balances were paid in full at the time of each service without exception.  Please let me know if any of this is needed.  My car is still smoking.  I have no interest in the shop completing any additional services for me for as long as I live.  I simply want a refund of all or the majority of the balance I paid for these services so I can take the vehicle to another shop for resolution
Regards,
