Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
*** ***’s statements are completely untrue and I have documents and evidence that prove otherwise.I bought my condo only a few years ago in a brand new building (the ***) and my kitchen was in pristine condition before he caused extensive damage to it*** falsely states that the reason for the floor replacement was for renovation and that I am trying to get him to do additional renovations in my kitchenHowever the purpose for the floor replacement was to fix an acoustical defect in the kitchen that he knew the builder was reimbursing us for, mentions that he is installing in his invoice (WECU SOUNDLESS+ 10mm) and additionally feels that the reimbursement should be paid directly to him even though he does not own my apartmentIn addition to the original signed agreement for $for installing the tiles that I purchased independently, he tried to obtain an additional payment of $1489.41, ($1368) that the builder is reimbursing unit owners toward correcting the acoustical damage (plus an he added on in sales tax)He caused substantial damage to my property including my stainless steel refrigerator which is unusable and extensive damage to my custom designed wood cabinets that cannot be replaced (I checked with the builder)Both were in pristine condition before he moved the refrigerator out of the kitchen and took the baseboards off the cabinets as he stated in his contract that he would do in order to replace the floor in my kitchen. He behaved in a completely unprofessional manner by coming to my door at in the morning demanding money while on my way to the hospital for a fractured hand and then called me on the phone and yelled at me when I refused to open the doorAfter agreeing that he damaged my refrigerator he refused to then compensate me for it and instead doubled the bill.Ultimately he misrepresented his ability and lied about his credentials as he is not licensed either as a general contractor or home improvement contractor to do the job which I verified with the dept of buildings and the dept of consumer affairsHe performed shoddy workmanship at best and I should be compensated for the damages that he made to my property to restore my kitchen to its original state and that amount should be deducted from the $he says I now owe him
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question aboveSincerely,*** ***

DO General Construction has performed renovations at [redacted] for several years and has an outstanding reputation. It is unfortunate that [redacted] is attempting to bully DO General Construction into paying for the refinishing of her entire kitchen on the basis that the alleged damages were not present prior to the tile work. None of the alleged damages were made by DO General Construction. The outstanding invoice due is $1, 096.00.

Review: I live in a building that is only a few years old and my kitchen was in pristine condition before contractor [redacted] destroyed my kitchen. I hired him to install tiles that I purchased for my kitchen floor and he broke my kitchen faucet, pantry shelf, dented and scratched my stainless refrigerator, broke the seal on my freezer and damaged my wood cabinets below the kitchen sink which are now splintered and coming apart and the cabinets to the right and above the kitchen sink which have long cracks in them.He doubled and tripled the cost of job which was not in the original contract I signed for $1200, refused to reimburse me for the refrigerator which is now unsafe to use, came to my door at 8 am in the morning demanding money while I was on my way to the hospital for a fractured hand, called me on the phone when I refused to open my apartment door and yelled at me.At first he agreed to pay to replace the refrigerator door which I ordered but then he tacked on additional fees so that I was still paying for it. I cancelled the order for the door when I realized that of freezer seal was destroyed making the refrigerator unsafe to use and additionally when I described the incident to Kitchenaid they told me he probably dropped the refrigerator and that the replacement door may not align properly creating an adequate seal.Desired Settlement: I have deducted $1200 from the bill which is what he is owed for the floor which he completed (he has also fixed the pantry shelf and faucet) but he still owes me at least $1800 for the refrigerator which costs over $3000 and the blond wood cabinets below and above to the right of the sink which need to be replaced. I dont want to have to redo my whole kitchen cabinets which would be even more costly but this is what I will have to do if he doesnt replace the cabinets which now make the kitchen look shabby in addition to the big dented and scratched refrigerator which I am afraid to store food in because the seal is broken.

Response:

[redacted] selected DO General Construction to install kitchen floor tile based on other building unit holder references. DO General Construction has performed renovations at [redacted] for several years. The contract [redacted] signed listed pricing for the installation of regular tile, and [redacted] chose a more expensive tile. The existing kitchen saddle no longer matched the tile [redacted] selected, this was discussed and [redacted] verbally agreed to pay an extra $380, only to complain days later that it was too costly, and we agreed to settle the extra price for $300. Day by day, [redacted] changed her story, first by saying, “Please don't overcharge me for the work and I will recommend you and have you do additional work for me”. After the tile installation was completed, [redacted] said, “By the way the upscale Manhattan tile place wants me to send them pics of the kitchen and I can recommend you as the contractor”. Once [redacted] received the invoice, she created a list of other items she wanted fixed, and blamed my company for all other areas of the kitchen in need of renovation. In fact, [redacted] also tried to have me fix a light fixture, “Is it possible that you can look at the orange light fixture?I think it is shorted out. I have tried putting in new bulbs but they don't work.I am sorry I bought it but it is the only decent light in the whole apartment.”In good faith I fixed the faucet (untouched with tile removal and installation) and pantry shelf (untouched with tile removal and installation). Regarding the refrigerator, initially [redacted] complained there was a scratch, then a week later changed the complaint that the door was broken, then supposedly dropped and apparently now not working. [redacted] first asked for $400 to replace the door, and refused to pay the $300 for the saddle, only after it was installed. On one occasion [redacted] even replied to an email requesting payment, “OK”, only to refuse to pay days later.Initial invoice was for $1,368.00 (only $168 above original price due to special tile installation). Final invoice for original contract price, the saddle minus the replacement door of $1,096.00 is due DO General Construction for services rendered. If payment is not received, [redacted] will be sued for theft of service.
