Took my truck to have performance motor rebuilt roughly around December 22,2014 Got a call December 29, at 2:06pm left a voicemail on my phone called him back right away so we could get things underway. Took a payment up to him on January 10, for the cost of the parts which he
said he would need.About the middle of January I had injectors build a *** *** in Clearfield PA which I had paid for them myself and *** *** told them the specs to be built at.I had kept in touch with him the whole time it was being built *** had said it would only take to weeks to rebuild the motor I received the truck for my birthday September 19, which is about mouths the whole time there was always excuses why things were backed up.After receiving the truck on September 19, I drove truck home I took truck for an little ride the next day to Ollies in State College PA where I found the truck was leaking oil I found that it had a oil line off that had to be put back on and checked oil and was all fine just caught it in time an also I had notified *** and he said he would come down and check it out so he did on September 22,checked the line an all was good.October 2, I had first service done at 1,miles since rebuild 134,was the mileage at this point I also received my turner sct livewire ts which was downloaded into the ecm.October 3, I had uploaded a tune and the clutch had started to slip which was supposed to handle the horse power of the rebuilt motorIt was a single disc south bend clutch that was supposed to hold horsepower from what *** had saidSo I dropped truck off at his shop shortly after this date when he had time to fit it in I had then called south bend myself and they had told me that there is no such thing as a single disc clutch holding up that much horsepower you would need a competition dual disc clutch or triple disc clutch so I had told *** that an he had said they don’t know what they are talking about but were going to need to put a dual disc clutch in it an that is more money which I agree to pay the $difference which it came up to $918.89 In the beginning of January, I had towed a small trailer with the truck an had noticed a smell of antifreeze which all my gauges an additional gauges that been out in the truck were fine so I had taken additional precaution an pulled alongside of the road to look underneath the hood to find that there was antifreeze pushing out of the antifreeze tank so I had then did not proceed my trip I topped my antifreeze back off an had then babied the truck the whole miles back home I had called *** he had told me to drive it up to his shop which had been January 8,he checked it out and said that it was my radiator cap so I went that day to Joel Confer Ford in Bellefonte PA an purchased a radiator cap. Took me a few weeks to actually use the truck due to weather I do not run truck on bad roads due to salt an calcium on the road way but when I finally got to use the truck in March, I had the same issue as before with antifreeze so I had called *** to tell him an had told me that I would have to bring truck up to have heads retorque due to his torque wrench being off specs when they had put in on the tool truck weeks after my motor was done in September, then I had said to him why did you not tell me in the first place back in January, an he had no reply On March 22,I had dropped truck off to have heads retorqued he had told me an others that day that he would have it in the shop Wednesday and have it back by Friday if heads were ok *** had also told the others an I that again his torque wrench was off again and it was on this time so I had asked him if there was any other problems that could resolute in other issues and he had said no In another conversation that same day an time he had said to the others an I that the guys he had working for himself before (did not know what they were doing I have a good group of guys now including my son an of his other buddies) As of April 1,I asked *** how he was making out he had come back with injectors, piston is melted and both heads appear to be cracked which I had replied the motor doesn’t even have miles on it I had asked him if it was all covered and that I would call *** from *** *** to have injectors tested *** had replied what all covered? I said “I didn’t melt the piston” *** replied “you will have to talk to ***” *** stated “This is injector failure or owner operator failure” I called *** and he had said to have all injectors sent an he would test them all and if there was any problem with them he would take care of them so I relayed the message to *** and he had said he would send them out to him to have tested I had called a few days after the injectors were supposed to be taking to get tested at *** *** which I had talk to *** he’s the guy that builds an test injectors *** told me that he only got and the injectors out of the injector was marked were the melted piston was All injectors were tested and the results of the tests were good *** was to call *** to get the other injectors that was not received by *** the first time to test As of April 29, *** at *** *** had not received the other injectors so *** is hold this up.As of May 7, I spoke to *** and he received all injectors and tested and results of all tests the injectors are good *** will be doing paperwork and sending email to prove that he tested with the end result of the tests

which he said he would need.About the middle of January I had injectors build a [redacted] in Clearfield PA which I had paid for them myself and [redacted] told them the specs to be built at.I had kept in touch with him the whole time it was being built.  [redacted] had said it would only take 6 to 8 weeks to rebuild the motor I received the truck for my birthday September 19, 2015 which is about 7 mouths the whole time there was always excuses why things were backed up.After receiving the truck on September 19, 2015 I drove truck home.  I took truck for an little ride the next day to Ollies in State College PA where I found the truck was leaking oil I found that it had a oil line off that had to be put back on and checked oil and was all fine just caught it in time an also I had notified [redacted] and he said he would come down and check it out so he did on September 22,2015 checked the line an all was good.October 2, 2015 I had first service done at 1,000 miles since rebuild 134,464 was the mileage at this point I also received my turner sct livewire ts which was downloaded into the ecm.October 3, 2015 I had uploaded a tune and the clutch had started to slip which was supposed to handle the horse power of the rebuilt motor. It was a single disc south bend clutch that was supposed to hold 1000 horsepower from what [redacted] had said. So I dropped truck off at his shop shortly after this date when he had time to fit it in.   I had then called south bend myself and they had told me that there is no such thing as a single disc clutch holding up that much horsepower you would need a competition dual disc clutch or triple disc clutch so I had told [redacted] that an he had said they don’t know what they are talking about but were going to need to put a dual disc clutch in it an that is more money which I agree to pay the $400 difference which it came up to $918.89   In the beginning of January, 2016 I had towed a small trailer with the truck an had noticed a smell of antifreeze which all my gauges an additional gauges that been out in the truck were fine so I had taken additional precaution an pulled alongside of the road to look underneath the hood to find that there was antifreeze pushing out of the antifreeze tank so I had then did not proceed my trip I topped my antifreeze back off an had then babied the truck the whole 5 miles back home I had called [redacted] he had told me to drive it up to his shop which had been January 8,2016 he checked it out and said that it was my radiator cap so I went that day to Joel Confer Ford in Bellefonte PA an purchased a radiator cap. Took me a few weeks to actually use the truck due to weather I do not run truck on bad roads due to salt an calcium on the road way but when I finally got to use the truck in March, 2016 I had the same issue as before with antifreeze so I had called [redacted] to tell him an had told me that I would have to bring truck up to have heads retorque due to his torque wrench being off specs when they had put in on the tool truck 2 weeks after my motor was done in September, 2015 then   I had said to him why did you not tell me in the first place back in January, 2016 an he had no reply.  On March 22,2016 I had dropped truck off to have heads retorqued he had told me an 2 others that day that he would have it in the shop Wednesday and have it back by Friday if heads were ok [redacted] had also told the 2 others an I that again his torque wrench was off again and it was on this time so I had asked him if there was any other problems that could resolute in other issues and he had said no.  In another conversation that same day an time he had said to the 2 others an I that the guys he had working for himself before (did not know what they were doing I have a good group of guys now including my son an 2 of his other buddies) As of April 1,2016 I asked [redacted] how he was making out he had come back with 4 injectors, 1 piston is melted and both heads appear to be cracked which I had replied the motor doesn’t even have 5000 miles on it.  I had asked him if it was all covered and that I would call [redacted] from [redacted] to have injectors tested.  [redacted] had replied what all covered?  I said “I didn’t melt the piston”.   [redacted] replied “you will have to talk to [redacted]”.  [redacted] stated “This is injector failure or owner operator failure”.  I called [redacted] and he had said to have all injectors sent an he would test them all and if there was any problem with them he would take care of them so I relayed the message to [redacted] and he had said he would send them out to him to have tested.  I had called a few days after the injectors were supposed to be taking to get tested at [redacted] which I had talk to [redacted] he’s the guy that builds an test injectors.  [redacted] told me that he only got 4 and the injectors out of the 8. 1 injector was marked were the melted piston was.  All 4 injectors were tested and the results of the tests were good.  [redacted] was to call [redacted] to get the 4 other injectors that was not received by [redacted] the first time to test.  As of April 29, 2016 [redacted] at [redacted] had not received the other 4 injectors so [redacted] is hold this up.As of May 7, 2016 I spoke to [redacted] and he received all injectors and tested and results of all tests the injectors are good.  [redacted] will be doing paperwork and sending email to prove that he tested with the end result of the tests.

Review: On May 11, 2016 I contacted Robert P[redacted] aka Diesel Doctor about an issue I was having with my 2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI (Turbo Diesel Injection. He stated the has worked on them in the past and was willing to work on mine. He asked me to make a deposit on the parts needed before he ordered them because once he ordered them he could not return them. The following day I went to his place of business and paid the full amount he quoted me for the service which was $2,500. He told me at that time "I'll have it back to you next week." After two weeks I stopped back to check the progress on my car and he didn't even have my car in the shop it was parked right where I left it on the day I dropped it off for him to work on it. I attempted to contact him by phone multiple times with no response to my messages I left so I started to stop buy his place of business on the way home from work only to get more excuses of why my vehicle wasn't being worked on. It's been over 4 months now and when I do get in contact with him he keeps telling me I'll have it done for you tomorrow. When I stop back the next day his shop is either closed or I get another excuse and him telling me it'll be done tomorrow again. Then I stop back and find out he is out of state at some Diesel Events while my car sits tore apart for well over the promise deadline he told me it would be done. I think I have been more than patient with him until now. I talked with other mechanics and they told me it's an eight hour job. I understand that when working with cars there is always going to be problem that occur but 4 months is more than enough time to fix them. I don't even know the status of the car I haven't seen it in 4 months. I contacted another garage and asked if I get my car back from Diesel Doctor if he would fix it for me and he told me he doesn't want to deal with something another mechanic started which is understandable and he told me the only thing he will do is put another engine in for me for $5,000. I would like either for Robert P[redacted] to get my car back to me in a timely manner.Desired Settlement: Have him finish the job or pay for another engine due to I don't know what he did and no one else will touch it after he tore it apart.
