I...

received the above Issue and I noted that there fs nothing wrong with her automobile. The
customer did not contact me at any time since she was here on 05/13/14. In response to the issue I
called her on 05/22/13 at 7:22 p.m. and asked If I could please speak to her about the issue and exactly
what It Is. She replied- "We have nothing to discuss." And hung up on me. Here are the facts as I recount
them.
1. Ms. s.s called the shop on OS/09/14 and stated that when she put the transmi$$10n In drive or
reverse there is a "clunk'' as transmission engages.
2. I stated that it was a very common problem and I think I may know what It Is. She said she would
call back.
3. Customer called on 05/12/14 and said she also has an oil leak from transmission- I stated that
this may be related and that I would check the problem for no charge. She also stated she had
the car diagnosed at the Mercedes Dealer, at a transmission shopJ and at her regular mechanic
an appointment was made for 05/13/14.
4. When the car arrived at our place of business we noted that the engine and transmission were
extremely hot. 'J'he engine temp 81USe stated 120 degrees Celsius- the max allowable. We
opened the hood and noticed an oil burning odor. While the customer went on a walk we used
fans to cool the engine and transmission. The check engine light was also on- never mentioned.
5. After the engine cooled we drove the car around the corner and noticed that the transmission
did not shift out of 2"d gear which will cause the engine to rev extremely high and overheat the
engine and transmission.
6. When the customer came back one and a half hours later I asked about the transmission being
stuck In gellr she said she had to drive on the freeway wlth her flashers on and could only go 40
Mph and other motorl5t5 were honking at her. She never mentioned this important Issue In our
three conversations!
7. We put the car on the holst and showed her that the transmission was leaking oil badly from the
conductor plate and connector electrical plug and the wire harness was nearly melted to the
conductor plate. The transml.sslon appears to have never been serviced In 123,000 miles.
8. I told her and her husband that we would have to repair this first before we do anything else. I
gave her an estimate for 1085.00-see attached work order
9. Customer went home and I called during the day and stated that the car was In very bad shape
and she may have caused engine and transmission damage due to severe overheating. (See
attached work order). We Itemized all recommended services on bill and told her the mechanic
she took her car to Installed the transmission mount on backwards and numerous other issues
were present.
10. We rompleted the job, test drove the car and noted that the oil leak, transmission stuck In 2nd
gear, and clunk when engaged were now repaired and car was drlvlns normally. When the car
was picked up the husband went out to verify that the check engine light was out.
11. While diagnosing the car we noted that the transmission control module had never been
updated. This was a free update from Mercedes Benz which had expired. The customer never
took the car to an M.8 dealer or someone like us a Mercedes only repair garage. The car was
always serviced by non- Mercedes technicians- See the recommended service on attached bill to
the cars poor condition.
12. I told her and wrote on the bill that in the future she may need a transmission control module If
other problems appearM But not now, maybe never because the car is operating normally.
13. The revised estimate was signed by her for 1085.00 because we did all diagnosis for free. I did
not call her and raise the price because the final invoice was 954.03 on 1085.00- another
untruthful statement from the customer. I called her to tell her about the transmission mount
(which we repaired for free) and the general very poor condition of her car.
14. We did not cheat her, I did not rafse the estimate, and I lowered lt. I am not dishonest and have
been In business for 36 years and I don't think the B.B.B should close my business based on
untruthful. deceiving, and inaccurate statements made by the customer. She also stated that I
spoke nonsense like the car Is. hot. She admitted to driving the car on freeway stuck In gear- so
who Is speaking nonsense.
15. We are not replacing the Transmission Control Module since we never worked on It and only
stated that she failed to have It updated years ago because of her taking the car to nonMercedes
mechanics in order for her to pay less for servic~.
16. I don't remember the last time I had a complaint from the 8.8.8. This complaint is totally
Inaccurate and untruthful and slanderous to my reputation.
17. If further questions arise please feel free to contact me at (619) 460-1498.
Sincerely,

Review: I called this shope 3days ago and told Mr. [redacted] about my car problem, he was very friendly and appeared knowlegible.I felt,I needed to talk to him face to face, without taking my car to him , so I took the diagnostic test from the dealer to this shop 2 days ago and was reassured that the dealer's diagnosis is wrong . Mr. [redacted]'s gave several examples that in his 36years experience he has never seen any need for repair of Transmission Control Mission Module (TCM) and the problem about my car is only conductor problem and transmission liquid leaking. I took the car to the shop yesterday. He again talked about the conductor and nothing about TCM. He called me several times during the day and added to his demands for other parts replacement(final cost = $954.03) and when he called to ask me to pick up the car, he mentioned about the TCM needs to be replaced. I went to his shop and expressed my concerns about the expenses and repairs when the main issues is still TCM and confronted that he misleaded me and made me to accept his services and not the dealer. He was very cool about his cheating and even admitted that TCM can hardly be replaced because the part is no longer available in the market. I felt cheated by his dishonesty when he repeatedly brag about his honesty.I'm demanding repair of TCM my car and would like to let Revdex.com know about the way he practice in his shop. I did review his practice on line, he is very dishonest person. His business should be closedDesired Settlement: He has to replace Tranmission Control module/TCM. The diagnostic test from dealer clearly talks about this issue and nothing else;he misleaded me by telling me the cause of the gear problem is oil leaking and the conductor and not the TCM. He cheated me. The minute he got the car in his shop, his behavior changed drastically,; started talking about nonsenses like car is hot and he will charge me more if he has to cut the tube etc. etc. He added to part repair by false claims.
