Digestive Health Clinic, LLC Reviews (2)

As the current medical director at the Digestive Health Clinic, thank you for giving me the opportunity to respond to the aforementioned patient complaintOut office conducted a through review based on the information you provided as detailed below:
On May 5th while scheduling an
initial appointment, the customer gave us insurance information for a policy that had already been terminatedUpon informing the customer of this fact, he elected to proceed with his appointment as a "self-pay" customer without insuranceHe indicated that he would provide $at the time of his appointment and proceed with monthly payment thereafterOne day late he called to inform us that he could only provide $at the time of service but would eventually be able to provide $200/month once he returned to work.
The customer then had two appointments: one on May 7th, and a second on May 26th.
On July 2nd, a reminder letter was sent to the patient since no payments had been received for June.
On July 28th, we contacted the customer by phone and he told us that he had applied for Ada County assistanceWe then took the additional step on contacting Ada County Assistance to verify, and they responded that the customer did not put our company on the application for the May dates of serviceThey also informed us that the customer had a second application submitted to them on July 16th, but again neglected to put our company on the application.
On July 30th, a collection/termination of care letter was mailed certified to the customer for non-compliance with the previously agreed-upon payment planThe letter promised to provide emergency care for days but then stated that we would no longer provide care for himIt stated that he should seek to obtain another physician as he might have ongoing issues that would require medical care.
On August 18, 2010, the customer's account was turned over to Credit Data Idaho.
On September, 15th, the collection/termination of care letter was returned to our office unclaimed.
On November 4th, the customer called to schedule an appointment and asked if he could set up some sort of payment plan for his previous collection balanceOur staff informed him of our policy that the collection account would need to be paid in full prior to him being rescheduled given his previous failure to follow through on the payment planIn response, the customer stated that he was going to contact the Attorney General and terminated the phone call
Upon review of the customer complaint, all Digestive Health Clinic protocols were followed tot he best of our abilityUnlike our not-for-profit hospitals, we are a business like any other, and as such we expect payment for servicesthe customer repeatedly failed to follow through on promises, and as such was terminated from care at our clinic five years agoit is unfortunate that his action led to termination of care, but we provided him every opportunity to make good on his promisesFortunately for him, there are multiple other local providers through his insurance who provide the services that he requires.
Our Office strives to meet the needs of our patient as well as to educate them so they are empowered to make informed decisions regarding their health careIn addition, our billing team works tirelessly to communicate with patients and to make financial accommodationsThank you for allowing me the opportunity to review this case, and please don't hesitate to contact me if I can provide additional information

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
In all do fairnessI believe that the Digestive health Clinics accounts are quite detailed and correctI would have listed them on the county financial assistance request if I thought that it was requiredI did not, and that is the crux of this whole issueI had no help through this process back then and it was the first time that I was put in the situationSince the StAlphonsis doctor that I was seeing at the time referred me to that facility for my upper GI, I thought that they were a part of the hospital and would have been covered by the financial assistanceNobody told me otherwise and I thought that the process of communication between separate branches was slow but would have been rectified eventuallyObviously I was ignorant on many levels of the " StAlphosis processI had no help sorting out who or what needed to be claimed on my financial assistanceI didn't know What I was supposed to do If I am still able to seek financial assistance for that sum of money I will seek itThe reason I didn't pay the amount back then was that I never could be productive as a truck driver back thenSince my surgery was for an intestinal hernia, when I went back to work drivingi the bouncing of the cab brought on uncontrollable deification that I could not holdSo I could never go back to that job
So the bottom line isif I had chosen a Stlukes doctor at the timeThey would have supplied me with a social worker to help me through the processBut I chose poorlyMy insurance is a moth currently soon to go up to a month for this StAlphonsis connected care Which puts me in the situation of continued neglectAnd last but not at all the least of the tragic issuesSomeone that is in true need of medical treatment is shown that the Hippocratic oath in the 21st century is trumped by company policyThe digestive Health Clinic is a shinning example of the decline of humanityI have driven past your facility and it is always completely packed with cars in the parking lotMight even seem like people are being forced to choose you for treatment Naaahhh, that is ludicrous!
Regards,*** ***
