We spoke with [redacted] - Agent ([redacted])
The
issue is as resolved with [redacted].  [redacted] was disappointed to find out
the magazines cost $3.49 per issue after the initial sales call.  Our customer service rep did the walk through call...

with [redacted] and confirmed billing.  [redacted] confirmed
she was aware of billing for each magazine prior to the billing date but
was still disappointed.  She knowingly approved the charge and
understood the cost prior the first mailing.  She was also aware she
could cancel and receive a refund for the $99 but still agreed to the
first printing.
We agreed to part amicably
at this point by removing the most recent invoice for the second
mailing.  We did not need to credit as the customer was not charged.
The invoice had a balance due as the credit card was not charged for the
second issue.  Please respond to Revdex.com with the following, "We can reply to the Revdex.com that we've resolve the
customer's initial concerns and remove the second invoice as requested.
We also closed the account without penalty."  Please let me know if you
need any additional information.   [redacted] emailed me to confirm she
received the invoice with a balance and charge of $0 and also confirmed
she logged in her account to see the cost of the next issue is now $0.

Review: A sales representative from American Lifestyle magazine presented to our office a special offer for today only when she was in the office of paying $99 to get 50 American Lifestyle magazines sent out on my behalf for a promotion. She said the 99 was for the enrollment and the magazines were free, if I decided to do another mailing after the first free trial then I would have to pay 174.50 per mailing. I asked the sales rep several questions about the order form because it appeared differently then what she was saying, but she assured me the first 50 were free other than the $99 enrollment, so I signed it. I was not provided a copy upon signature but was charged the $99.00. The marketing manager [redacted] called to set up my first mailing and as we were going through the process and she showed me where I would be charged the $174.50 for the first mailing. I told him that is not what the sales agent told me and I was not okay with that. He said they have never done a promotion like that, but I told him that is not what the sales agent told me personally and was the only reason I had signed up. He told me there was nothing I could do, I would have to pay the $174.50 to which I said I was no longer interested in doing business with their company because of deceptive sales practices. He told me my account would be put on hold and the $99 was non refundable.Desired Settlement: Since they are not willing to honor what their sales agent told me, I would like my $99 refunded and my account deleted.

Review: customer service personel charged $200.00 to my credit card without my authorization for a service I do not want. They charged the $99 activation fee but if you do not want their service they charge you $200 to close out your account in an effort to get you to continue with your order of their services.Desired Settlement: refund my 299.00 fees as I never received any services.

Review: The purpose of this complaint is to ultimately see if I can get a partial refund of the "services" provided by this company. I was in a sales presentation to look to use their magazine as a sales tool for getting more business with realtors. At the time it seemed to be a good idea and I signed up under the idea that I would only have to pay 100 dollars to set everything up vs. the 300 dollar normal payment. I did not realize I had to set everything up within 30 days and within that 30 day period my income situation has changed dramatically and not in a good way. In the times I talked to the individuals at this company it was never told to me verbally that I would need to pay the additional 200 dollars should I never use this service. This practice is deceptive and frankly it is stealing as they did not do ANYTHING to earn this additional money. I have no problem giving them the initial 100 dollars as it was my mistake for signing up for this service but the idea that they will keep the other 200 dollars is a horrible business practice. I did call to see if the company to see if they would refund the 200 dollars and I was essentially told that it was too bad but I signed the contract and they are keeping the money. This is NOT doing the right thing and I would NEVER conduct deceptive business practices where there was NO services provided as I decided against this type of marketing. Please call with any quesitons and I am happy to disucss this.Desired Settlement: Refunding of the 200 dollars taken. I am WILLING to give them the inital 100 dollars as it was not a good decision for me to initially request their services HOWEVER no services were provided.

Response:

Thank you for the recent notification of a new Revdex.com complaint. We have called this customer and honored the request to refund the $200 charge. Although this charge was authorized under our standard, signed agreement, we credited the credit card as a courtesy. The customer is fully aware of the charges and credits and was very appreciative of our understanding. We look forward to perhaps working this this customer in the future.
