Dilawri Collision Centre Reviews (1)

I took in car in to Dilawri collision centre in regina in Aug 2013 due to rear end damage. It was [redacted]. IT took them few months to fix it. Finally when I got it back, I got the car inspected and it failed precisely due to work done by Dilawri. I end up taking it back again and finally got it back. 1st day I started the car, I noticed battery is dead and command start doesn't work. I went ahead and replaced the battery at my cost. At this point, I had taken so much time off work that I couldn't go back to them immediately for command start. Finally, when I went I was told the problem might be because the car sat on the lot and wasnt't plugged in for couple of months. Due to extreme weather we had, it had to be jump started and that can possibly damage the command start settings. I was told by the manager at Dilawri that he will be in touch with [redacted] and get this resolved. After more back and forth, my claim adjuster emailed me stating that [redacted] does not think that could be the issue that damaged my command start. Now, no one answers, neither [redacted], nor Dilawri. I know that I when I dropped my vehicle off my command start worked fine and when I picked it up, it didn't.Desired SettlementReplacement of command start at there cost. Business Response [redacted] The vehicle was involved in an accident and the collision was in the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was brought into the collision center where it sat for an extensive period of time waiting for the customers insurance company to give an estimate before any work could start. This was in the dead of winter where temperatures were extremely cold. I am unable to see how the collision center would be held responsible to replace a command start where the climate and conditions would affect the battery and electrical items. We can't assist in replacement of the command start. If the customer wishes to get another command start installed we will help him out with a discounted price. [redacted]Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)When you know it is dead of winter and car is sitting on the lot for sometime, why would you not do your due-diligence to make sure electrical is working fine. [redacted] you guys still gave me my car back without giving me any warning about command start. At least you could have send estimate to insurance explaining it to them how it is there fault. Now, insurance does not agree and you do not agree, [redacted]. Final Business Response I have received the most recent rebuttal dated 5/29/2014 and as mentioned to the client on a telephone conversation it took an "extensive" period of time for his insurance company to come and do up a vehicle adjustment, there was no "negligence" nor "laziness". No repairs can be started on a vehicle unless we are authorized to do so. I believe the consumer should seek out the cost of the command start with his insurance company. [redacted]
