Low oil pressure issue undiagnosed for 50000 kms. Only visibly worn parts replaced. Concerned for damage to all int parts with warranty running outPurchased 2009 [redacted] new in 2009. Returned car, around 3000 kms, for diagnosis of engine knock. Was told to wait until it had at least 10000 kms on it to break it in and then return if noise still present. We did return several times after 10000 kms and did not get a diagnosis. Were told they would wait to hear from [redacted] "tech line" and would get back to us wich they never did. They replaced an "actuator" one time in hopes it was the problem but it was not. Finally around 50000 kms they diagnosed it with low oil pressure caused by a faulty gasket inside the timing chain cover. They replaced the cover and the visibly worn parts related to the timing chain but refused to acknowledge that all other moving parts in the engine could have been affected as well. The mechanic performing the repairs said he would have rather installed a new factory long block as it would have been better and less labor. We now have 88000 kms on the car and it is about to run out of warranty and we have no confidence that it will not fail prematurely. We are also starting to hear subtle intermittent knocking noises again. We declined to acknowledge that repairs were ever done properly and stated our dissatisfaction. The dealer said their hands were tied and it was "[redacted] tech" that tells them what to do. We feel, that since the defect was present virtually since the car was new and that they couldn't prove that the rest of the engine wasn't worn as well, [redacted] should provide us with a new factory long block. In light of the fact that they couldn't and wouldn't prove that the rest of the engine wasn't worn as well and that it wouldn't fail prematurely either before or after the warranty expires, [redacted] should provide us with a new factory long block. [redacted]Business Response [redacted] Regarding [redacted]'s complaint with his vehicle, we have had the vehicle in twice with to the dealership and have done extensive testing, all at our cost with no charge to the client. We have found no problems with the vehicle, and can't get the vehicle to stall as the customer has stated. We will continue to work with client and will update on a ongoing basis. [redacted]
