After reading the contractors rebuttal I feel the need to clarify my point of viewFirstly, whether I was going to re-side the house this year or next has no bearing on replacing the shingles to meet the overhangHe said he was going to cutback the wood shake shinglesWhat his crew did was take them off and throw them outNow the sides of the house ( along where the overhangs are ) are now exposed to the weather - rain, wind, sleet, snow etcuntil it can be resided I am not able to take on this expense at this time and now the house runs a risk of further damage from being exposed to the elementsInside the home in three of the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom there were cracks running along the entire front and back of the house ( including closets)That were caused, reported and shown to the contractor after adding the overhangsThe contractor stated that he would "make it right" and had a gentleman that would take care of itThis person came over and patched most of the cracks and told this writer he doesn't do paintingWe tried several times to contact the contractor with no responseThe ceilings still need to be painted over in the residence that is occupied by people and furniture and possessionsThis still would require the entire ceilings to be painted for "cosmetic reasons" This should be covered by the contractor and not the customerWe have been getting estimates ranging from $to $to fix the jobThe contractor claimed that he made the decision to pull off the siding without contacting the homeowner was bad business on his partHis claim of doing it because of bees was a cop out and I have not seen one Bee at the home or anywhere this summerWe selected this contractor because he was affiliated with the Revdex.com

I am willing to come to a happy medium to resolve this issue. Knowing all the extrasdone for the customer I do not feel comfortable being on his property or doing anymorework for him. As you know there is a difference of $ 500.00 still owed to DiNatale Enterprises Inc. I am willing to forgo the money and not do the siding.
