Review: I purchased a dinette set on April 22, 2013. I was told verbally and in writting that the items would arrive in 8 to 10 weeks. I paid by personal check on April 22, 2013 a total of $2,525.92 The check was cashed on April 24, 2013. I called the store several times to check on my order. Each time I was told, "it should be here in a few days" or "we will call you when it arrives". On July 25th, 2013 I called the store and got an [redacted] voice mail - general mailbox. I decided to drive up to the store this afternoon. The store looks closed - the name is gone and the glass front is covered by white paper.Desired Settlement: If this company can not provide the furnature - they need to refund me my deposit of $2,525.92.

Review: My husband and I ordered (4) bar stools from Dinettes and Stools on December 31, 2012. We paid a 50% deposit of $753.90 for the stools, and were told it would take 6-8 weeks for delivery. We have ordered furniture on numerous occasions, and have often had to wait longer than the expected delivery time, and completely understood that this was an approximate time frame. However, after waiting about 10 weeks, and having heard nothing from the store about delivery of the stools, I called and spoke with the owner of the business, [redacted]. He could not have been less concerned, there was no apology about the delay, but told me he would call the manufacturer. I gave him a few days, heard nothing back, and called again. Over the course of the next two weeks, I called numerous times, and never even got a phone call back. So, I went into the store, where I was treated quite rudely and was told yet again that he would call the manufacturer. I followed up with him the next day and was told delivery would be "about a week" or so. I waited the week..no delivery, no phone call. After a week and a half, my husband then actually went to the store and requested a refund. The owner told him they would not refund our money and told him to leave or he would call the police. My husband calmly left and called the manufacturer directly. The manufacturer, a reputable company that has been in business since 1964, took our information, checked into it, and then proceeded to tell us that the order had never been placed, and that Dinettes and Stools was on a credit hold with them. So, essentially, we floated this business a no-interest $750 loan for over (3) months. Shocking. I went in to the store today, told them what I knew, and demanded a refund. I was issued the refund. I called my credit card company to alert them of the situation, and they agreed to monitor the account for this transaction.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that Revdex.com call the owner of this store to request that he issue me an apology (by phone) for violating our contract and holding our money for three months--in essence, he extracted a $750 loan from me without my knowledge. If he does not wish to comply with this request, I will settle this breach of contract through legal means.

Review: We order a table and 4 chairs on January 12, 2013. We paid a downpayment of $2676.98. We were told that they would be able to deliver the furniture within 8 to 12 weeks. It has now been over 19 weeks since our order and we still do not have the furniture. I have called several times over the last 6 weeks. Each time they tell me it's scheduled to be on a truck by the end of the week. They can not provide any evidence of the existance of our furniture and they are not willing to provide a refund.Desired Settlement: Either have the furniture delivered to us by 6/7/2013 or give us a full refund of $2676.98 by 6/7/2013

Review: On July 1, 2013, I visited Dinette's & Stools in [redacted], Va to purchase a bedroom set for my son. I purchased a bunk bed and dining table that were floor models, and a night stand and chest of drawers that were at the warehouse, but could be delivered the next week. I was to wait, and all of the furniture would be delivered together by the end of the week. I had heard nothing by Tuesday the 9th, so I called and arranged for the two floor models to be delivered on Friday the 12th. Allen, the salesperson, told me that my nightstand was actually arriving at the store later that afternoon ( it was supposed to have been delivered with the table and bunkbed). He said my dresser would be there next week. I called yesterday, Thursday July 18, and the owner, was very hostile when I asked when my furniture would be delivered. I asked how I could contact the manufacturer and he said they would not speak to me. He refused to even tell me who the manufacturor was. My furniture at the time of purchase was supposed to already be manufactured, waiting to ship from the warehouse. I suspect that the furniture I paid for has not been ordered at all.Desired Settlement: I would either like my furniture delivered promptly, or a full refund, and the delivered furniture picked up from my home. It was my intention to purchase a matching set for my son's bedroom, so I do not want just the bunk bed.

Review: I ordered a children's Bed system on December 15, 2012 for a total of $1637.35. It was to be delivered and set up between four and six weeks. We are now moving into week eleven with no bed delivered. Beginning in at the end of January, during week six, I called to inquire about the bed. I was told that they needed to research the delay and get back with me. I got a phone call back that explained that the bed manufacturer is not responsive to Dinettes and Stools repeated phone calls but they assured me that it would be in the upcoming shipment on that Monday and that I would receive a phone call confirming. No phone call. I called Tuesday and had to remind them who I was and why I was calling-- there are two staff members, the owner and a manager. This time the owner assured me that it would be in the following week's shipment, that there was a delay because the manufacturer moved locations. A week later I was told that the manufacturer was not returning any of Dinettes and Stools phone calls and that they didn't know what was in the shipments until they arrived. Each week I am told a different reason for the delay. I am treated as though they have never heard of my purchase or delay. Last week when I called, the owner left a message on my voice mail telling me that there were parts missing that delayed the shipment, and the following day the manager assured me that I would be getting a call to schedule the delivery any day. Today I went in to get a refund because it has been eleven weeks. I have no bed, no one can confirm where the bed is or when it is really coming, they have my money, and I feel like a fool. I and was told that I was not entitled to a refund and that I had to wait like everyone else. I am confident that [redacted] law allows for one since it has been twice as long as I was told and I do not believe that they know when the bed is coming. And now I am beginning to wonder if the order for my bed was ever placed at all. The manufacturer is being blamed for what is clearly a store policy to delay and stall. I left the store with a delivery date but no sense that the bed will ever be delivered. I want a refund for materials and services never delivered or performed.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for materials and services never delivered or performed.
