Diplomat Home Improvement LLC is just horrible. Stay away. Stay far away. They will show you complete work from their website, looks good, then get your job & do the opposite. Total bait & switch with this company. They were contracted to renovate my exterior staircase as well as re-do 2 slabs of my side walk. They left my stairs looking half done & within 2 months my side walk is cracked. I reached out to the owner/ salesman Chris with absolutely no response. Diplomat Home Improvement are crooks.

In the contract, it states that the start and completions dates are " APPROXIMATE DATES" They are not set datesThis is necessary for unexpected delaysThe customer works from her home and there were delays because there were days that we were not able to work in certain areas because she was there working and could not be disturbedOur contract does not state that we were to install sub floorsI don't know where the customer got that from but it wasn't even a discussionThere would be an addition cost to rip up her floors, our agreement was to go over the existing floorsThe roof part of the contract does state that we were to do " rubber" and my roofer made an honest mistake and fixed the leak with tarHe will go back and put down rubberThe Dumping fee's are indeed included in the contractAs each part of the job is completed I have my clean up man go to the property and remove the debris and dump itSo it IS included in the cost of the contactA dumpster was not placed because of the expected length of the job and us not wanted an eye sore for the customers houseBut having my clean up guy go there cost the same if not more to remove the debrisThe contract states cart away all debris, and that is what we didMy workers were only told on conversations to finish the work in a professional and timely fashion. As far as it being substandard workAgain as previously stated, the customer works from home and saw everything being done for a monthSo why would she wait until the end to complain about the work being substandard or not stop the job ? Thank youChris M***

about Diplomat Home Improvement LLC

I am a home owner in Brooklyn and called diplomat for an estimate for home improvement and extension on my house. I got the flyers and cards left on my door and porch. We have busy schedules as professionals and work long hours. I had already made arrangements to meet on Saturday I’m my lunch break for an estimate. I happen to be home unexpectedly today and decided to call to see if anyone can come today. I was given a time frame of 11:30 to 12n he came at 10:55 am. I wanted him to see the back first. He wanted to come in to sit and talk. before looking at the blueprints he kept asking if I was married and said you are not answering. He wanted my husband there. I told him I made the decisions. His response was this is expensive and when you guys are serious and when both of you are present you can call us back. I told him “do you think I will spend thousands on an architech and blue prints and not be serious?”Since when there is a criteria to be married or have both spouses present to get an estimate. Maybe because I’m a black female he thinks I cannot afford the work. Little does he know I have the funds available to start immediately. When I called the office to complain the woman who answered the phone was even worse. Talking over me and not letting finish a point. That was rude. I asked her if it was a criteria that both spouses be present for an estimate she said yes. And then told me they are not the company for me. I told her I’ve already made that decision. Wow! What a terrible first impression

[redacted],We have made several attempts to make appointments to resolve the issues. The appointments were scheduled and rescheduled in weekly intervals because of the customers schedule and /or lack of time available to stay there for work to be completed. The final arrangement was met on 8/*/17. My floor guy fixed all of the concerns of the customer and her husband stated that he was satisfied and would have [redacted] release final payment. To date we are still attempting to make the payment arrangement for pick up, balance due $ 3,360.00Thank you,KellyWarmest Regards,[redacted]

In the contract, it states that the start and completions dates are " APPROXIMATE DATES" They are not set dates. This is necessary for unexpected delays. The customer works from her home and there were delays because there were days that we were not able to work in certain areas because she was...

there working and could not be disturbed. Our contract does not state that we were to install sub floors. I don't know where the customer got that from but it wasn't even a discussion. There would be an addition cost to rip up her floors, our agreement was to go over the existing floors. The roof part of the contract does state that we were to do " rubber" and my roofer made an honest mistake and fixed the leak with tar. He will go back and put down rubber. The Dumping fee's are indeed included in the contract. As each part of the job is completed I have my clean up man go to the property and remove the debris and dump it. So it IS included in the cost of the contact. A dumpster was not placed because of the expected length of the job and us not wanted an eye sore for the customers house. But having my clean up guy go there cost the same if not more to remove the debris. The contract states cart away all debris, and that is what we did. My workers were only told on conversations to finish the work in a professional and timely fashion. As far as it being substandard work.... Again as previously stated, the customer works from home and saw everything being done for a month. So why would she wait until the end to complain about the work being substandard or not stop the job ? Thank you. Chris M[redacted]

I am now aware of this complaint and after speaking to [redacted], my foreman is going there today, 11/*/2016. Just a few days after receiving the complaint. The customer was indeed satisfied with all work done because [redacted] in fact signed 2 completion certificates. One for my company for...

the owner Christopher M[redacted] and one for the banking institution that was used to finance the work for him. The money would not have been released to us had he not verified that the work was done to his satisfaction. We are more than happy to go back and rectify anything that he is unhappy with that is reasonable and within the contract. Most our work is done by repeat and referred customers. Thank you

The paperwork that [redacted] is referring to was sent to her when she asked for it originally. She said that she never received it, and It was sent to her again on Friday, June [redacted] after her husband cursed me out. He assumed that I had previously hung up on his wife when I had asked her to hold on...

because the other line was ringing but she may not have heard me asking her to hold on because she too was screaming at me and threatening to " make calls to people that she is associated with" Her call on Friday, June [redacted] was the first time after several phone calls that she even mentioned a vanity being left on her property or it would have been removed sooner. I've had many pleasant conversations with [redacted] with her thanking me and complimenting me on my professionalism and my way of "treating customers as I would my family" The vanity will be removed by my office by Wednesday, June [redacted] and the sign will be removed at the same time. Thank you

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS home improvement place to anyone! !!!....Despite numerous attempts via text explaining what needed to be fixed I never got a response...I had to spend extra money to fix leaking pipes and buy an over the range microwave.

Robert and Chris of Diplomat Home Improvement met with my elderly mother in mid-July, they were contracted to redesign the backyard. They sought a loan for her from two different banks. They convinced my mother to lie to the bank and say that the work had been completed in order to secure the loan.
After two weeks of work (just about the time the bank disbursed the funds to them), Robert and his crew abruptly stopped working. It is now August [redacted] and the work is still incomplete.
