Dircks Moving & Logistics Reviews (27)

I used Dircks as part of my move from Surprise, AZ to Kent, OH and was amazed at their service. I have lived in six different states and have moved many times. I can relay some disappointing moments in past moves and more than one horror story. Compared to my past experiences, being moved by Dircks was a breeze.

They were very professional. They wore company clothing. They were courteous, efficient, fast, and careful. They made sure I was happy. In this day and age of lousy and impersonal customer interaction and service that leaves something to be desired, Dircks was indeed a breath of fresh air.

Hell, I was so happy; I gave the mover’s a tip.

Review: Our couch was soiled in moving it to our new residence. We assumed that the couch would have been covered by the movers to prevent soiling, The soiling resulted because the movers neglected to cover the couch for the move to prevent soiling in transit. The moving company has offered $36.00 for the cleaning of the soiled areas.

We have requested that the movers make arrangement for the cleaning of the couch or await an estimate as to the cost of the cleaning and re-imburse that expense. An e-mail letter has been sent to the movers representative addressing this issue.Desired Settlement: We are requesting that the movers make arrangement for the cleaning of the couch or re-imburse expenses for the cleaning of the couch.

Response:

Mr. [redacted] clearly declined additional coverage for his goods (attached), therefore he received .60/lbs coverage for his couch and resulted in a $36.00 payment for soiling the item. After an additional conversation with Mr. [redacted], in an effort to retain the customers goodwill, and in an effort of reconciliation, we offered Mr. [redacted] an additional $64.00, bringing the total claim settlement to $100.00 to get the couch professionally cleaned.Mr. [redacted] accepted our additional offer on Wednesday, July 15th.

Let me start with the people are great. The folks who helped us through were strong, and the actually guys who did the physical moving were the best we have worked with (moved 6 times in last 10 years) The packers are terrible. I would absolutely not use them for your packing services. The best way to describe our experiences was a box we opened to discover our toddler's potty training toilet wrapped up and "protected" with her bedroom drapes. (Needless to say those drapes are now in the trash) There was countless other examples of the packers asking my wife (while holding our 8 mo old child) to climb ladders to get things for them, boxes that were mislabeled. Least of all was after the truck left discovering probably 3-5 drawers that were never opened and packed as well as more than a few larger items left at the house. It was terrible. As much as I love the people there, I was amazed that none of them wanted to take a stand and financially help us (we paid about 2500 for them to pack our property) undue all the terrible things the packers had done. On the whole the entire move was soured because of how bad the packers were. I would without question use the movers, but would NEVER pay them to pack your house.

We had no idea what to expect when we decided to hire a moving company to get us moved from AZ to WA. Having lived in AZ for over 20 years, we had accumulated a lot of "stuff" and knew this was no do-it-yourself job. We had seen Dircks Mayflower involved with various ASU events and looked into them. Their BB rating was good, so we gave them a call. From beginning to end, we received high-quality, organized service; the people were all very courteous and professional. We had not one scratch on any piece of furniture and every single box and item was accounted for at the end. I would highly recommend Dircks Mayflower to anyone seeking a professional moving company. Thanks Dircks!

Review: My family and I made the move from [redacted] on June 29,2013. At the time of our move having made a state to state move in the past we opted to pay for insurance so that if our belongings were damaged in the move, repair or replacement would be taken care of. On June 29 Dircks came to move us. The crew that came to our house had to take the backs of our couches off in order to load them in the truck, they also had to take our refrigerator apart. We were ok with this as it was the only way to move our things. The problem occurred once we got to [redacted]. Dircks sent over a crew of men from another moving company to assist our driver in unloading our trailer. Our new home is a lot smaller than our home in AZ. So the men tried to move our refrigerator into our house without taking the doors off even though they were told to do so by us. They scraped the doors on the side of our brick house causing a large scrape across the front of our brand new $3000 refrigerator. Then we noticed that our Dryer had a large dent in the insturment panel. They moved our couches in last and did not tighten the screws on the backs all the way this leading to the backs rocking back and forth. The couches are brand new bought just before we moved to [redacted]Desired Settlement: We have been in contact with [redacted] ACSR,CISR for Dircks moving and she has referred us to [redacted] Service here in [redacted] for service with our claim. It is now October 1st and we have yet to have the fridge fixed, and the payout promised on the Dryer and Couches. We were told two weeks ago that [redacted] Service had to order a door for our fridge and until that happens our claim will not be settled. This is unacceptable to us we paid a lot of money to insure that our belongings would make it here undamaged and if they didn't that things would be fixed in a reasonable amount of time. We want what we paid for, it can't possibly take this long to order a door. We feel like we have been given the brush off and will not be using or recommending Dircks in the future.

Response:

We certainly regret that the claims process is taking longer than usual in this case. Our Claims department has been in contact with the customer (last contact on 10/01/13) to advise that the required refrigerator door has been ordered and is expected to arrive between 10/03/13 and 10/14/13. We have been advised that the delay is being caused by the door presently being on back order. Though our policy is to typically settle the entirety of a claim at one time, we will move to settle the remainder of this claim immediately in a good faith effort to bring resolution to this situation as quickly as possible.

Review: In April this year I contracted with [redacted] to move our household goods from Surprise, Az.to Wichita, Ks. But [redacted], "Certified Moving Consultant" from Dircks came out. He was very engaging and seemed very professional. A friend that was moving at the same time from Sun City to Wichita said she had contacted three movers and felt [redacted] was most reasonable. So I also contracted them for our move. I paid extra for $30,000 coverage incase of damage beyond what they would cover. Dircks sent a small moving truck to load our household items and they were very efficient. But I learned our things were to be stored in a warehouse until a larger truck was available and would be loaded with other peoples things and go to Colorado first. I also paid extra to be delivered earlier than was scheduled which didn't happen, arriving May 8. After most everything was unloaded the driver came in and wanted me to sign papers saying I did not choose to count each box and was complaining about his health, needed to check into a hospital and was anxious to leave. Also stating he should not be driving because he was on probation from a previous violation. Only several days after unpacking the boxes did I find many broken items and missing at least three or more boxes. The first claim form I made was paid but the second one, only one item was paid and refused to pay for my missing items which were valued more than I estimated. I received a letter from the [redacted] Claim Adjuster, [redacted] in Fenton, Mo. stating the final claim was refused because I waived the check for inventory control when the offer was made after the fact by the driver. I wrote back and gave them 10 days to respond with a check which they never did. My big mistake was putting my trust in Dirks and [redacted]. I also said if they did not respond I was writing the Phoenix Revdex.com. I contacted my friend I mentioned and she also had some damage to her furniture.Desired Settlement: I want the $110.00 that I underestimated the actual value of the missing boxes paid to me.

Response:

[redacted] household goods shipment was transported from Arizona to Kansas pursuant to a [redacted] Transit, LLC ("[redacted]") Estimate/Order for Service and Bill of Lading. Thus, [redacted] was the interstate motor carrier of record for the purposes of [redacted] interstate move. During [redacted] interstate move, Dircks Moving & Logistics ("Dircks") was acting solely as a disclosed household goods agent of [redacted]. As a disclosed household goods agent, Dircks cannot be liable for any damages arising out of [redacted]'s performance under [redacted]'s interstate Bill of Lading. Therefore, Dircks respectfully requests that [redacted] complaint against Dircks be closed as "Invalid" and directed to the Revdex.com of Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois in St. Louis, Missouri so it can be referred to [redacted]. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

We recently used Dircks Moving for a local move. With 2 small children, jobs and all that accompany...we weren't looking forward to the pack and move. We opted to utilize their packing services which saved us a tremendous amount of time (and stress). The move itself went smoothly and we were impressed with all the folks involved.
