The DirectBuy business model allows its members to purchase items at the price that the manufacturer sells the product plus a small fee to cover the expenses of ordering, handling and processing the order So that we can do this on a complicated order such as kitchen cabinets we ask that the
member read, initial and sign an agreement accepting the fact that they will receive what is on the order, and that the manufacture will not replace product for free other than damaged or defect items In this situation the member ordered a tall cabinet with doors that have a square top profile After the cabinet was received he realized that it was square, not arched and requested to reorder an arched door We prepared the order, waived the handling fee, and only charged the member for the door, shipping, and tax.The other complaints that the member had were installation issues; specifically the doors need to be removed prior to installation, reinstalled and adjusted after the cabinets are hung Also, this brand does not offer custom cutouts for its oven cabinets, so the space for the oven needed to be field cut by the installer The member was informed of this upon ordering by the agreement that was signed and reminded of it once the complaint was brought to our attention The issues have been resolved upon installation. It is recommended to the members to order scribe molding with each cabinet order This is an inexpensive piece of molding that can be used for a variety of purposes with a kitchen installation and the exact use and quantity cannot be determined prior to installation It is also explained in the signed agreement that although these items are recommended, they may not ultimately be used They are recommended so that if needed it will not hold up the job due to ordering after the installation is started It is explained that these items are optional, but are not returnable if not used After the job was started the member felt that he had too many pieces of scribe molding and wanted to return them I did offer to accept a return for credit, but he later said that he found a use for them and did not want to return them. There are doors that have shipping damage and/or warranty issues and are being replaced at no charge to the member We are having these doors remade and shipped directly to his home. The club offered a credit on future orders equal to half of the cost of the reordered tall door with an arched top. Please let me know if there is more that we should or could do to resolve this complaint.Thank you

Prior to purchasing the cabinets the *** were asked to verify that everything on the order was what they wanted and that the measurements were correct? The promotion is limited to non-members as an incentive to join DirectBuy.  This was stated on the promotional information that was sent to her.  We will contact the member and offer her a free gift of some sort for the inconvenience that we caused her.

Review: Roughly in October 2014 my wife and I joined Direct Buy paying a fee of close to $2,000 membership fees to shop within their establishment. Actually, my wife was dead set against paying this fee because she though it was a scam.

Anyway, I reluctantly talked her into joining Direct Buy. We paid the fee and in the beginning we purchase a [redacted] 55" flat screen television at Direct Buy. By coincidence we were at [redacted] store and found our identical television at [redacted] on sale for roughly $100 cheaper than Direct Buy's price we paid. My wife had to continuously hassle the franchise as he gave her the run around and through countless phone calls he finally refunded her the difference.

Moving on, my reason for joining Direct Buy was to purchase kitchen cabinets. Direct Buy was nice enough to give us a $100 certificate for one of their "associates" to come out and take measurements. It cost me an additional $100 for him to do a 15 minute job. He took a couple pictures, a few measurements and was out of my house within 15 minutes. I even asked him how much he would charge to install the cabinets and he replied he would get back to me and of course, he never did. I suppose it's more lucrative taking measurements at $100 cash + $100 certificate for 15 minutes work!

In April 2016, I hired contractors to install the cabinets. All cabinets fit like a glove with the exception of the cabinet above the refrigerator which is 1/2" too wide.

Since May 5th, Douglas B[redacted] (part owner) and I have been going round and round over how to make this cabinet fit. The cabinet is 36" if you trimmed a 1/4" off the sides of both sides of the cabinets (which that was his resolution) the doors wouldn't open as they would get damaged. Mr. B[redacted] claims that I signed a contract Direct Buy was not responsible for mis-measurements. Well, who is, is it the customer? Direct Buy was the one who recommended this so-called "professional" to take measurements and got paid well for a 15 minute job without even pulling out the refrigerator!

In Mr. B[redacted] defense, he did offer me a $100 credit towards my next purchase and I could keep the cabinet. But, my wife and I are so disturbed with Direct Buy that we are not interested in purchasing another thing with them.

My point is I [redacted] well paid $100 cash to have one of his so call "professionals" to take measurements and you're going to tell me Direct Buy is not responsible for the sizing of the cabinets?

I requested from Douglas B[redacted] a copy of the contract that I signed, the invoice of the costs that I paid for the cabinets and the name and address of this "professional" that took the measurements of my kitchen. That request was sent to him on May 5th. I presume he has something to hide and he doesn't want to disclose this information.Desired Settlement: Full refund of the cost of the cabinet above the refrigerator. Also, the $100 refund for the cost of the incompetent so called "professional" who took measurements of my kitchen.

Review: I ordered kitchen cabinets through this location. They made a few mistakes. Luckily most were replaced by the cabinet maker. The one major mistake are 2 upper doors on a broom closet. They did not order the proper door design on the upper cabinet doors to match all my other cabinets. Yes all my cabinets were ordered at the same time with the same wood type, finish, and door design. I had to pay an additional 142.34 dollars to get the proper doors that I should have gotten in the first place. After many emails with the owner Doug B[redacted] trying to get the issue resolved and have my money refunded I get no response. Basically because they made the mistake I have to pay for it. This is very poor business practice and I will no longer do business with this location and will encourage others to do the same!

Also its now a month later and I still have no news on the doors I had to pay for or an expected ship date like I was promised! I also do not have the product that was covered under warranty.Desired Settlement: A refund of the money I was charged and my proper product shipped to me.

Review: New cabinets and crown molding (totaling about $12,900) were delivered to my house with terrible finish around mid April, 2013. I did not want to install them, but was told by Direct Buy rep [redacted] and [redacted] cabinet rep [redacted] to go ahead and install them and new cabinet faces would be ordered for all cabinets. I asked to speak with the owner of Direct Buy,[redacted], and was put off by Mr. [redacted] for weeks, as I was told he was the "face" of Direct Buy Cranberry and would handle the problems himself. I was told to expect new faces by 1 June. I contacted Mr. [redacted] and met with him on 27 June to find out where my new cabinet faces were and was told the new faces were never ordered, without further explanation. Mr. [redacted] knew for weeks the faces were never coming and failed to notify us until I demanded the meeting on 27 June. During this time I had granite countertops (from Direct Buy Cranberry) installed to match the cabinets. Finally, on 5 July, at my insistence again, Mr [redacted], came to my house for a look at the installed cabinets and he basically stated he did not find any real issues with the cabinet finishes. I had a cabinet builder, with over 40 years experience, inspect my cabinets who stated to me that my cabinets were not sanded and prepped properly for the stain/glaze and that is why there is an inconsistent finish and that my cabinets were among the worst he has seen, given the wood, stain and glaze used. The finish is indicative of much cheaper cabinets. Mr. [redacted] continual stalling and failure to notify me of no new cabinet face order, caused my dispute of charges on my credit card, to be disallowed because of the time elapsed! Buyers beware -this is a classic case of bait and switch and I have found that Direct Buy will use your contract against you, saying they are not responsible for finishes to cabinets and then delay, delay, delay. I suggest people google Direct Buy lawsuits and see for yourselves their tactics, I wish I had done more homework.Desired Settlement: I desire a full refund of approximately $12,900 due to the fact that Direct Buy took the money and failed to act in good faith. I also will have to reface or remove all of the cabinets and start over. They seem to be more interested in "protecting" their supplier, than providing customer service to me as a paying member of Direct Buy. I also have no confidence in the Brookwood brand as it appears to be a Direct Buy brand and I was "steered" to this brand by Mr. [redacted].

I called in and was offered the tablet and dining card. When the service representative discovered that I was already a member of Direct Buy and the offer was not for me. The representative no longer wanted to speak to me. Here I thought that Direct Buy was doing something nice for their members, but that was not the case.Desired Settlement: I would like the tablet and dining card that I was offered to me for my birthday. It is not my fault the card was sent to me by mistake.
