Direct Color Systems Reviews (6)

If I could give ZERO Stars I WOULD
DCS Product is poorly made, needs constant service, and tech support is horrendous. Company appears to be cash strapped. Direct Color Systems (DCS) UV 1024 printer. Buyer beware.

Our experience mirrors other reviews: "The printer is however not reliable and service is virtually non-existent. We have been down almost 4 weeks and unable to get the machine working. You seldom get the same tech when calling support so after long hold times and waiting for a call back you have to start the troubleshooting process over, many times repeating steps you have already accomplished"

$2,600 for a replacement print head or 10% of the purchase price 3x per year. Wish someone would buy them and re-engineer and fire all Senior Management.

Do not recommend
We have DCS machines. They are seldom working. Both machines are down again. Throwing money and parts is the only way to get them working if at all. Parts are expensive and often backordered. Tech support isn't helpful and rarely has a clue what these machines are like in the field. Tech support is not free. They are aware of these problems but don't notify their customers of fixes unless you go through the pain of tech support. Very unethical. The machines are hobbled together by frankensteining parts and pieces of epson printers and is still, or should be still in prototype phases. I have an employee that often spends 12-15 hours a week troubleshooting these machines so they can be up and running. We haven't had either machine working for 28 days for 1 and 8 for another. Every monday you come in from the weekend and both are clogged and need excessive cleaning cycles to get working or capping stations and printheads replaced to get up and running. I would jump on a class action suit if it was viable

I've had similar issues as with all other reviews. Nothing but trouble from a device that has barely been used. Does anybody know if there's a class action lawsuit started? I'm based in Canada. I would go as far as this company is a complete scam. Selling a product knowing there are issues.

Awful customer service and printers
We work with printers around the world and Direct Color Systems is by far the worst I have ever seen. Even if you have a warranty they want you to pay to even get them on the phone to ask a simple question about paperwork. Awful company. Awful products.

Prismatic Signs purchased a Direct Color Systems (DCS) UV 1024 printer. When it works the results are very good. The printer is however not reliable and service is virtually non-existent. We have been down almost 4 weeks and unable to get the machine working. You seldom get the same tech when calling support so after long hold times and waiting for a call back you have to start the troubleshooting process over, many times repeating steps you have already accomplished.

There is no local service, tech support is all done over the phone and they send you parts to replace yourself. The installation instructions they provide are incomplete and their techs freely admit this. I worked in Tech Support for an electronics company many years ago and the service work they are asking their customers to do is beyond most peoples capability without some background in printer/electronics repair. I have tried to escalated the problem to DCS management but am unable to get a return phone call.

To get a tech to do warranty service they want $1500, first time I have heard of having to pay for warranty work.

If I were in a position to buy this machine again I would not, and recommend others do not as well.
