Direct Connect Ventures Reviews (3)

Please find the attached. This was emailed several days ago and upon receiving no response from the Revdex.com, we find our response is absent from the record. There was also an email that was sent upon receiving the complaint; we don't find that email either. Not sure what's happened
but this is now the third attempt(within the 30-minute allowable timeslot). This case is a matter of the complainant choosing a path not condoned nor discussed with our firmA condition of our firm accepting the complainant's engagement, clear instructions were given and agreed upon by the complainant (as will be found in the document attached)The complainant agreed to follow these instructions in order to retain his qualification for the placement of financing. With the complainant's agreement, we accepted the engagement. However, the complainant chose to endure choices of his own, without consulting with our firm, which led to his demiseAs we have been clear with thousands of clients over the years, our process is tried, tested and successful when we are allowed to do our jobIt should be noted that if our guidance is ignored and one choses what they believe (as an inexperienced novice) to be a better way, the original contractual agreement between our firm and the customer becomes voidEven though the complainant ignored our directions, we made every attempt to help him recoverUnfortunately the complainant's choices caused a disastrous backfire and made the case more difficult than everOur firm is not about taking on easy projects; some projects taken on are extremely difficult as was this caseHad the complainant followed the agreed upon instructions and guidance, our firm would have been successful, as we have been with all clients who follow our leadSecuring financing is difficult enough without having a client go rogue in making their own uneducated choices. We have 100% success when the instructions and path given are followed and the experts are allowed to do their job

Review: I worked with Direct Connect Ventures (DCV) to secure business financing while trying to franchise a Frozen Yogurt shop. My involvement with their organization began in late 2012, where they walked me through what would be needed financially to secure financing. I let them know that I'd need to sell my house in order to have the cash flow necessary to open the store. They understood and told me that based on my existing financial status, I'd be a good candidate and they'd be able to secure financing. In April 2013 (3 months later), I sold my home and went through a formal underwriting process with DCV. I was extended a contract with them on 4/23/2013 after completing the under-writing and they said I was pre-approved for financing.I wrote a check to DCV for $5,500 and it was cashed on 5/1/2013 which initiated DCV's contracted work with me; DCV stated it was a 90 day process to secure financing. After a business plan was constructed, DCV began to contact banks to try and secure financing as they detailed in their contract with me. During that time, I was encouraged by DCV to move forward with the franchising process because the banks would want details on the business (location, lease agreement, store opening costs etc). As a result, I entered into a lease agreement with a property manager, paid for store architectural designs, and bought goods for construction totaling over $50,000.By mid-September 2013, financing hadn't been secured by DCV and construction was underway with an open date targeted in Oct/Nov. I didn't have funds to complete the project because financing hadn't been secured by DCV. I was forced to have another investor take over my project leaving me without a business and my home sold. On 9/26/2013, DCV committed to refunding the costs for their services given this financial burden and their inability to secure financing despite pre-approval. I was refunded $2750 on 2/17/2014 but haven't received the remaining 50% despite multiple communication attempts with DCV in the past yrDesired Settlement: It would be highly appreciated if Direct Connect Ventures could refund the remaining $2750 that I paid to them for services that did not result in securing financing for a business.

Review: In October last year, I decided to get franchised with Menchie's frozen yogurt. So Menchie's frozen yogurt company engaged me into Direct Connect Ventures Company to consult a financial business plan and to get the loan at the time when I got the place with Menchie's. So the Direct Connect Ventures Company requested the fees in advance which is $5,500 and I paid it on November 3, 2014, Invoice number 9227. Then in February 2015, Menchie's frozen yogurt company terminate the agreement with me because they don't have space in the city I chose, so they refunded me the franchise fee back. Since February 2015 I have been calling, texting, and emailing Reg Byrd, CEO for the Direct Connect Company, to refund my $5,500 back to me because we didn't start anything for the business I wanted and in the beginning he said "yes", that he will mail me my $5,500 check. I never received the $5,500 check and I never heard from Reg Byrd ever since. I also emailed him why he wants to keep the $5,500 check and if he wants to keep the $5,500 check, I emailed him to send me a written letter from himself of why he wants to keep the $5,500 check.Desired Settlement: I, M[redacted], am requesting to refund my $5,500 check back to me.

Response:

Mr. A[redacted] was refunded the $5,500.00. We have only just learned that the check was not received by him and so a new one will be issued. Mr. A[redacted] had telephoned our office and had emailed us requesting the refund which was promptly processed. Texting is not a method of communication used in our company. To file a complaint about something that is erroneous we find intolerable. Had we known he hadn't received the check an audit could have been completed with a new check issued.
