I have been working with [redacted] on this issue since I first became aware of it on April 3, 2017 at 11:30pm. I stopped out at [redacted]'s location the next day. At the time I was there it was not raining and I could not find any evidence of a leak. I ran water from a garden hose for about 20min...

and poured about 20gal of water down the system to try to replicate the leak. This was unsuccessful in duplicating the leak. I replaced the roof vent boot to see it that would fix the leak. I received a text from [redacted] on April 9, 2017 at 7:57pm when he informed me that there was still a leak. I stopped out the next day and replaced the Radon fan as a process of illumination. I received a text from [redacted] April 10, 2017 at 11:28pm informing me that it was still leaking. I stopped out the next day and replaced the fernco couplings and the pvc pipe from the fan through the roof. I received a text from [redacted] April 12, 2017 at 9:38pm informing me that it was still leaking. [redacted] suggested we try a rain cap, I did not have one so I ordered one on April 13, 2017 and had it delivered overnight and installed it on April 14, 2017. I received a phone call from [redacted] that night at 6:52pm informing me that it was still leaking. Per are phone conversation I informed him the I believe the leaking is not from the Radon System but from a roof issue. I also stated that I would come out and do more investigation to try and determine the exact cause of the leak.

I am rejecting this response because: The business response does not include the final resolution to the issue. There has been a settlement on how to resolve the issue. The business response also does not disclose the fact that the cause of the leak was not the roof but a faulty boot that was installed by the business. The business has agreed to allow me the home owner to contract with another entity to correct the original problem which resulted from a boot that was installed either improperly or not to industry standard. There is no problem with the roof. A qualified licensed building contractor was called by the owner to come out to review the roof and the system that the business installed through the owners roof. The assessment concluded that the issue was not the roof but the boot that was installed. A new boot will be installed that goes underneath the shingles that complies with industry standards for exhaust systems for the roof that I have. The issue was not the roof or the fan or the cup links that connect to the fan but the boot which was used by the business for the exhaust exit created by the owner. A settlement has been reached between the owner and the business to allow for the owner to hire a separate contracting expert to install the new industry standard boot.
