Review: I purchased a used vehicle from Direct Sales and Leasing in Youngstown on 1/10/15 ([redacted]). I did not get the vehicle home and the check engine light came on. I called the company to let them know what happened. The sales person ([redacted]) said he would convey the message to the owner when he comes back from being out of town. I took it to a local GMC dealership and they said the timing chain was bad and the cost of repair would be approx $[redacted]. I told this to the owner ([redacted]). He said that the dealer is likely going to be more money than an independent repair shop. He said that if I want to I could take it to a local repair shop it would likely be approx $[redacted] and he would help out with the cost around half ($[redacted].) I took the car to a local shop and the repair was still approx $[redacted]. I spoke with him over the phone and he said that he would give me $[redacted] towards the repair. I said that I would like him to pay half and he said that he would just give me $[redacted] towards the repair. It has now been several weeks since the repair. I have not received a check. I have called and left several voice messages and he has not returned any of my calls. There is question if the check engine light code was known by the dealership since the code is able to be cleared by simply disconnecting the battery and the fact that I did not even get the car home before the check engine light came on. Several times the owner said that the car was fine and I could drive it without getting it repaired. This was not the case because I was not even able to get plates for the car because it would not pass e-check with the check engine light on. The mechanic said that the timing chains were loose and definitely needed repair. I have a receipt for the repairs done on the car that I can submit later if needed.Desired Settlement: I would like the dealership to pay for half the repair ($[redacted])
