Dirks Heating & Cooling, Inc.

Dirks Heating and Cooling was hired to repair a Lennox Pulse furnace on Jan 9, This company was dishonest and the technician was not qualified to complete the repairs I had the following concerns with Dirks Heating and Cooling:
- Technician lied about part availability (apparently to sell a new furnace) - The technician indicated the exhaust motor was bad and two suppliers were unable to locate the part After I declined to purchase a new furnace, I was told the part was located at a third supplier, however, the part was actually in the technician’s truck the entire time- Unqualified technician - Changing the exhaust motor ($450) did not fix the problem The technician then explained the gas valve had also gone bad ($600) and if that didn’t fix the furnace, a board would also have to be replaced (A second company determined the actual problem was improper draining, and confirmed the three parts the Dirks technician suggested replacing were all working properly.)
- Used part put in rather than new part - As it became clear the technician did not know why the furnace was not working, I asked the technician to put my original exhaust motor back in the furnace so I could call another repair company When he took out the new/replacement motor so my motor could be put back in, the new motor had rust and dirt on it confirming it was not a new part I obtained a photo should Dirks wish to discuss this in more detailA second heating company was called, the drain problem was repaired ($in parts), and the furnace is now working properly

Got screwed from the startfind another Hvac company! Only wanted a new furnace, they hacked my ac unit out, then wanted $more than the estimate for a new unitAlso never vented the unit properlyleft wiring nuts exposed with no junction box, And left a 2" hole in the side of my housetold me to plug it rather than replace the vent pipeI had to finish the install myself after spending $Contacted company only to for them to tell me ("althought it make look better it isn't code")

Dirks heating came out when I Called to look at some radiant floor heat I wanted doneThey looked and said they would get back to me in a couple of days or so with an estimateweeks later I called still waiting, the man that answered didn't seem to care and told me to call the representative that came out on his cell phoneI did, the man was a little shocked but told me he had my estimate all ready to go, he just had to "find" it and call me right backThen,you guessed it, blew me offI don't mind if people don't want the work, too busy or whatever, *** *** *** ** ***Don't use them, customer service is awful

We are very happy with the service we recieved from Dirks! Our furnace died yesterday afternoon when our electricity went outWe called this morning to see if it could be fixed and had a technician out within an hourWe always had a quick response when our older furnace had an issueIt was decided that we would be better off to replace the furnace, and this afternoon they were installing a new furnace for us!! They had our gas meter updated and went above and beyond with some other updates! Great attitudes and overall awesome experience!!

Spent 20,plus dollars having a completely new heating system out in our house years agoInstalled in febuary did not get that cold thought it was fineThe next December when It dropped to below the system would not keep up and the house would be coldCalled and was told our house was not insulated good enoughI do not know how they know how well my home is inulated but I did add some in places I thought it necessaryNever got cold again that winter so I could not see if my fixing helpedLast winter got very cold tried all sorts of different things to keep the temp up and nothing workedDid some research and most places want btu's per square ft in wisconsinI have calculated ours and we are around 16, well short of recomendedThey were out and looked at the system and were going to put a quote together to change the system operation and add some more btu's last February and have not heard back from themFor a company who's comfort is there promiseI am not very

I contacted Dirks on Saturday 12/28 to come to our cabin near Spooner Wisconsin to fix our furnace which was not working. The technician said our glow plug and pressure switch were bad and he questioned why put the money into a 13 year old furnace. The parts were to cost $275 and $350 which I felt was overcharging since I was quoted $30 for a glow plug from another company that would be able to repair it the next day. I asked the technician to leave and paid him the $140 bill plus tax for the trip out and then had another company come out and fix the furnace (glow plug only) for $167 total. I feel Dirks takes advantage of customers with ridiculous prices and very questionable service! I would strongly recommend using another furnace repair business.
