Review: I am completely disabled my care giver called yesterday 7-23-13 to find out if I needed to pay my premium and get my monthly benefit she spoke with [redacted] who hung up on her when she did not have the answers when she called back to complain she was told [redacted] manager was [redacted] when she did not believe that she was told [redacted] the Salman all who were not available to speak with her this company has been giving me the dog and pony show for months I still do not know if I need to pay my premium or what my monthly award is I cant get a straight answer out of them ever and I have sent in my power of attorney 15 x something they never seem to receive it is never on file I cannot even get my address changed so they have my old address [redacted] XXXXX not my New address [redacted] XXXXX Please help me they need to speak with [redacted] and they need to give straight answers NOW.I need my check for June and July that never came. [redacted] and [redacted] XXX-XXX-XXXX

Disability Insurance Specialists, LLC (DIS)was the third party administrator for the referenced claim under the claimant's [redacted] policy. Effective 8/1/13, [redacted] resumed responsibility for claim handling in their Farmington, CT office. This claim file was returned to [redacted] on 7/12/13.

By way of background, an approval letter of 6/3/13 was sent to the claimant that outlined the monthly benefit and his eligibility for the waiver of premium benefit. Benefits were paid to 1/3/13 based on the information available at the time of approval and the claimant was advised of the additional information needed to evaluate his eligibility for benefits beyond 1/3/13.

The claimant's Power of Attorney (POA)contacted our office on 7/22/13 to discuss the claim and she was referred to the Farmington office of [redacted] after it was explained the claim file had been transferred to that location. The people referenced in the claimant's complaint work at [redacted], not DIS.

The POA called DIS again on 7/24/13, advising she hadn't received a response from [redacted]. She inquired about premiums and our office advised that premiums did not have to be paid. We also provided her with the date the file was sent to [redacted], as well as the box number assigned to the claim in an effort to assist [redacted] in locating the information that might be needed when the POA contacted them again for information.
