Disaster Relief, Roofing, and all General Contracting Reviews (2)

I spent over 1290.00 dollars on furniture at Modani, Chicago less than two years ago and I feel like I have been scammed . What I was sold as an all leather sectional form the sales person was actually leatherette.I noticed on a recent move that the "leather " had pulled away from the couch and I could see the cheesecloth it was adhered to underneath.

When contacting customer service he said nothing could be done that it was defective material but they have a strict return policy and offered me 10% off a pyurchase. Basically 129.,00!!!!! After sending pictures of my sectional he could see that it was clearly defective. I don't have kids, live alone and am not hard on my furniture. I now have to save for a new sofa. When I purchased my item at the store I had asked questions around quality.

This place is not for someone who wants to see their hard earned money go to waste or be mistreated by salespeople who will not offer to help beyond a 10% discount.

Stay away from this place.

I spent over 2,000 dollars in furniture at Modani, Miami three years ago and it started falling apart last year. I contact their customer service represented and she said nothing could be done unless I provided an invoice and receipt. It took me a day to go through my papers and eventually rescued it. I sent to her and she said that it didn't show up in their system because they had implemented a new computer system three years. My purchase was from 3 years and 2 months however my receipt is legitimate and I am not responsible for the amount of time they keep invoices for past customers. After sending pictures of my furniture, 2 chairs the were starting to unstitch and a pleather couch that was cracking they said nothing could be done because of the their policies. I don't have kids, or pets, and travel alone so it was a bit of a mystery how the furniture had begun to fall apart so quickly. I had to throw the sofa out last week. After several back and forth email, some of the correspondence was completely ignored, and finally they said they would give me store credit for US$50. I asked them to escalate my complaint and they wouldn't do so past the Customer Service representative. They also said they had changed manufacturers, which again, is not really my responsibility. When I bought at the store I had very clear questions regarding quality, and provided a description of the space where the furniture would be put. The representative was deceitful regarding the quality of the furniture and the customer service doesn't is not concerned at all with the satisfaction of the clients. I would have expected a much more decent store credit and at least communication from higher administration. The quality and the price of their furniture doesn't match.
