Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
From the Carolina Auto Connection website:"All our vehicles are given a point
inspection, fully serviced & detailed before they're offered for
sale.We have the BEST vehicles in town, with the LOWEST prices around
We guarantee our vehicles are exactly the way we describe them"These
are the claims made by Carolina Auto Connection. The vehicle I was
sold did not match up to these claims. As a business that supposedly
values great customer service, they should make an effort to stand
behind their vehicles if they fail to perform as described in the
advertisement. The ad specifically says that "the engine is
mechanically sound and be driven anywhere with confidence." Even though
there are plenty of other discrepancies between the ad and reality, this
is the biggieI'm not asking Mr*** to pay to repair every defect.
As he states, it is an older, high mileage vehicle. Minor
imperfections are not a big deal, but I was sold a car that was billed
as mechanically sound and this is certainly not the case. Mr
*** states the obvious in his response. The vehicle was sold "as-is"
and all the proper papers were signed. That is not the issue here. I
know that legally he is under no obligation to help after the sale.
This is about Mr*** standing behind the claims that Carolina Auto Connection
makes. This is about seeing if "The little dealer with the big heart"
really does have a big heart and a desire to make things right. I am still asking for the 1,This will likely not cover the cost of repairs, but is the least the business can do to show that they do stand behind the claims they make.Thank you,*** ***

First, let me start by apologizing for the delay in my responseI have been out all last week with laryngitis and am in fact still without my voice. Mr*** called and made an appointment to see the 'Subaru Outback he had seen on *** list advertised for $3,As the ad clearly
stated according to carfax it was a accident free, owner car That we had done thorough inspection that aside from some minor repairs, which we completed, passed with flying colorsAll the equipment was in working condition and the engine was mechanically soundMr*** arrived and ***, my salesman at the time, assisted him Mr*** looked it over thoroughly afterwards took it for a substantial test drive to which it drove and operated exactly as describedAfter much consideration and consulting with Ms*** over the phone they decided to purchase the Subaru and Mr***Since Mr*** was unable to drive vehicles he left us a deposit and we offered to let him store the Subaru here until it was convenient for them to pick it upAfter about a week the ***s came back to retrieve the SubaruSince Ms*** hadn't seen or driven the Subaru they, along with ***, took another look at the Subaru and another thorough test drive After words they were both very satisfied with the Subaru mechanicallyThey accompanied *** to his office, reviewed the our inspection, carfax, signed and paid for the car then drove it home with out any incidenceA week later they called *** to complain about the Subaru*** stated that we would be happy to look the car over and try to work something out, but the customer refused our help due to the distance they lived from usAt that point there was nothing that we were willing to do since the car drove perfectly during both tests drives and for days after the ***s purchased it. We do the absolute best we can to insure our vehicles are the best they can be when we offer them up for saleWe do far, far more than most dealersI know, Iv'e been doing this for over years and I've seen what most dealers try to sell for this priceHowever, we cannot warranty them for the simple fact we do not have a crystal ball and there is no way of saying for certain how long a year old, 150,mile car will lastWe do everything possible to avoid any problems, but the fact of the matter is we do not know what circumstances will arise, either by the customer or driving terrain, so unless the customers willing to let us inspect and estimate the damage we cannot do anythingThe was great all during the test drives and beyond. I'm truly sorry the car didn't work out, but I feel we did everything we could to avoid any problems and tried to offer help that was reffused.Sincerely,*** ***OwnerCarolina Auto Connection

I'm very sorry for the difficulty you're with the Subaru. We do everything we can do to ensure our vehicles are the best they can be. The car was sold "as-is, where is". All the proper documents were signed and all parties were clear on the "as-is" stipulation. I cannot warranty a 15 year old, 150,000 mile, $3,900 car. Sincerely, [redacted]Carolina Auto Connection

Review: We purchase carpet the entire house May, 2011. The carpet installation was a shabby job. We contacted the owner of the business on several occasion and after he came out to the property to see the carpet job nothing was done. I stop paying for the services and to this day the carpet has not been reinstalled.Desired Settlement: $4,500.00
