On a Friday afternoon, I called Discount Tire and Brake on JFK and asked if they could do a brake job on both axles on a Saturday morningEric assured me that they could if I arrived earlyThe next morning I was the first ticket writtenI was called back to the shop area a few minutes laterThey had changed their mind and decided that the front brakes would be too difficultI told them to go ahead with the rear brakes
I was told several times over the course of the Friday phone call and the Saturday morning ticket write up that the charge was $plus taxI asked the charge amount several times and was given the same answer repeatedlyUpon arriving home, I found a hidden charge of $for 'Shop Supplies.'
I returned to the shop and obtained a refund for this hidden feeEric talked down to me the entire time and called me "Boss." He said that the charge 'was on all the tickets.'
I am not your bossI am a customer who considers hidden fees to be deceptivePerhaps a good option would be to disclose the fee at the time the service ticket is written
