Bait and switch operation at this location. I bought these tires from them when we lived in IL. This location serviced them last June--now they won't Now, they won't service them because they are "two years too old". Of course, they told me this after they booked the appointment with me when I called last week and after they put my car up on the rack today.Desired SettlementContinuation of serviceBusiness Response Mr. [redacted] called Saturday the 16th to make an appointment for a rotation. We made the appointment and upon arrival he was checked in and pulled into the bay. The tire inspection showed that he had plenty of tread on his tires but the d.o.t. numbers are on the inside. (d.o.t numbers show the age of the tire)Upon inspection of the tire d.o.t's it was discovered that his tires are fourteen years old and thus become unserviceable by Discount tire. I explained to Mr. [redacted] that this is a personal safety issue with the tires being so old. I also explained that most manufactures recommend replacing tires at six years and they become unserviceable at ten, because the older a tire gets, the higher the risk of sudden and unexpected tread separation and he should replace the tires, keep in mind he is going on a trip this weekend to myrtle beach. I did offer to discount the new tires by offering an adjustment, what ever it would take to keep him safe. I also informed him that he did not have to take my word for it, that we could google it and it would show him numerous articles on the matter supporting what I was informing him of.Mr. [redacted] was not happy because we have a record of a rotation from last June and at that point started yelling that we just lost a customer unless we rotate them anyway and he is not buying tires regardless of what we say or show him (documentation of aging tire)Needless to say, we did not rotate his tires. We did check the air and he left.Consumer Response Discount Tires sold me these tires. They have all the information about the age of the tires, the previous service records, etc. They ignored this information, promised to service the vehicle by making an appointment, and once they had the tired off my car, refused service. This is either bad business or a bait and switch. Either way, Revdex.com should warn other potential consumers. Additionally, for the record, the comment about "yelling" is not my recollection of the conversation.

Damaged rimI went in to have a tire repaired. After they told me they could not repair my tire had to buy one. I watched as one of the managers stock a bar down on my Ram to pop the old tire off scratching up my rim. I brought up my concerns to the manager however he just stated I did not do that and walked offDesired SettlementI would like a replacement rim for the rim repairs to brand new status

On February 14, 2014 I purchased a set of tires from Discount Tires (Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC). On June 1, 2014 I noticed a nail in my tire after the store was closed. So I had the tire patched until I could get to Discount Tire the next day. When the patch was performed it was noticed that side of the tread was defective and air was leaking from that location. Now here is were the issue comes into play. I went to the Knightdale store and I was immediately told that I did not have the certificates for the tires. I told the gentleman that I was not offered the certificates at the time of my purchase. So he said I will give them to you for $77 +/- or replace the tire if they could not fix it for a fee. He also told me that it was not in stock at his store but would have to order it. So while I waited for them to look at the tire I called Six Forks road to investigate why I was not sold the certificates and to see if they had my tire in stock. They did not but he looked at the other stores and your Garner store had the tires in stock. So I drove to Garner. When I got there the guy told me the same sales pitch that the Knightdale store did but increased the price of the certificates to $125. I told him no thanks because one store tells me one thing and one tells me another thing. So all that said I am now riding around with a defective tire that I am going to have to come out of pocket to fix due to Discount Tires policies on tire replacement.Product_Or_Service: 4 tires Order_Number: [redacted]XXXXXXXDesired SettlementI would either like the full amount for the tires refunded to me or the certificates put on the tires, as well as, the new certificate on the new tire that needs to be replaced. Discount Tire will make you purchase another certificate if they will agree to replace the tire etc.

Brought my [redacted] in for new tires and vehicle was returned with damage to wheel drum that did not exist prior.August 18 I brought my [redacted] in for new tires. When my [redacted] was returned there was a note on the receipt saying my left rear wheel needed to be re-tapped. Discount tire said it was done by last shop that had my [redacted]. I asked for the bolt back that was present before I left my [redacted] with discount tire, they had too get in touch with tech to see if he still had it. The lug bolts on my [redacted] are all black and not standard silver color most would have. After not hearing back from discount tire I called them back the next day when on my way to bring my [redacted] back to the dealer for them to verify damage and verify it was not their shop that caused any damage. Discount tire told me they lost the original bolt that could lead to a determination at who was at fault and used for warranty if done by dealer. I was given 3 other bolts that discount tire had attempted to force into wheel housing which caused more damage. These bolts are standard silver color and not the black finish that are on my vehicle. [redacted] dealer checked wheel housing and determined that damage was not done at their shop and attempts by discount tire after original bolt was stripped caused further damage now requiring the wheel drum too be completely replaced. I attempted to call discount tire to tell them that [redacted] dealer was able to verify that damage was not a result of any actions at their shop, Discount tire rep (named [redacted] I believe) was insists that they are not responsible for the damage caused while my vehicle was in their shop. I have documentation from the [redacted] dealer saying they inspected the [redacted] wheel and spoke with all service techs that last performed any service on my vehicle and verified no damage had occurred and nothing was reported out of the ordinary. /////Desired SettlementI would like Discount Tire to either credit me for cost of repairs or work with [redacted] dealer to cover cost of repairs their shop is responsible for having caused while new tires were being put on./////
