It has been brought to my attention that a consignor had filed a complaint with the Revdex.com claiming not to have been paid for items we sold by public auction for him.
This is untrue Mr [redacted] did not put his apartment number on the contract he had with AAA Public Auction so at the close of the auction when we sent him his payment he did not receive it.
3 Days after we mailed Mr [redacted]s Payment Mr [redacted] contacted me stating he had not received his payment by mail so I verified the mailing address over the phone with him, he told me that I was lying and he had absolutely put his correct address on the contract. "attached is a copy of the original contract, note there is no apartment number with the address."
The next morning Mr [redacted] called and requested we put a stop payment on the check I then informed him that our bank has a charge to put a stop payment on a check, I also recommended we wait for the check to be returned to the sender by the USPS to avoid this cost. Mr [redacted] became very angry yelling and cursing at me over the phone. All the while I maintained a calm demeanor and asked that he calm down so that we could come up with a solution to his problem.
That same afternoon the check was returned to me by the USPS for having an insufficient address, I immediately contacted Mr [redacted] and let him know I had the original Check in my possession and it was available for him to pick up if he didn't want to wait for it to be mailed back him. He did not want to pick up the check in person so I forwarded it back to him by the USPS with the corrected address.
On February 2, 2015 check #[redacted] for $412.00 was cashed by Mr [redacted] Attached you will find a copy of the cashed check.
AAA Public Auction has been selling consignments in San Diego for over 30 years we have never had a consignor who did not receive payment for items we sold at auction.
