Discovery builders offered to repair all items that needed repair within the home within the next daysHowever they would not compensate for items that Mrand MRS. *** paid for that were quoted by *** electric ( a discovery builders sub-contractor) and never recievedThis was brought to the attention of *** *** the owner of Discovery Builders, and his response was that the home owner typically never gets to see the actual subcontractor quoteI can only assume the reason for this is so customers can unknowingly be charged for items they never recieveEmail records from discovery builders to myself, confirming payment can be presented to the Revdex.com at anytime.

I wanted to take a moment to follow up on Complaint #[redacted].  Discovery Builders has prepared and submitted for the Revdex.com’s review,  documentation showing the items considered “incomplete” on the new construction home of [redacted] and [redacted].  The owners ([redacted] and [redacted]) and project manager ([redacted]) of this company made an appointment with [redacted] and [redacted] after receiving the initial complaint to review any outstanding/incomplete items with their home.  It’s not about being right or wrong, however, in the best interest of all parties, Discovery Builders agreed to reimburse the [redacted]s in the amount of $511 in order to bring this issue to a conclusion.
The project manager for the [redacted] home, [redacted], was directed by the company management to present the [redacted]s with the $511 check and get them to sign off as having received same.  [redacted] and [redacted] also agreed that they would report the complaint as resolved.  Mr. [redacted] made several attempts to coordinate a meeting with [redacted].  Mr. [redacted] was repeatedly otherwise engaged and encouraged Mr. [redacted] to “leave the check”.  When the [redacted]s re-opened the complaint, again Mr. [redacted] tried to coordinate a meeting and with no avail, opted to leave the $511 check at their home as Mr. [redacted] instructed. 
The $511 check cleared the bank on 6/29/15. 
This is not personal, nor is Discovery Builders wishing to get in a point and counter point debate regarding this complaint.  However, simply because someone can malign your reputation via the internet, social media or Revdex.com website in order to get something they “want” (whether justified or not), doesn’t not seem fair or equitable from our company’s point of view. 
Discovery Builders has been building new construction residential homes since 1992.  We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, on-going warranty support and great customer service.  The home that Discovery Builders built for [redacted] and [redacted] is one that we would feel confident representing our brand and reputation in the industry.  It is so very unfortunate that Discovery Builders has not been able to satisfy [redacted] and [redacted]. 
I understand that we did not meet the “deadline” for responding to the re-opened complaint.  We are extremely busy, like our fellow builders, as this is the summer “building season” and we had to wait for the bank statement to verify that the check written to [redacted] and [redacted] had actually cleared.  It is frustrating that this complaint will remain in the system and in our history as “unresolved” when we’ve met every request from Mr. and Mrs. [redacted].

On 03/26/15 Mr. [redacted] agreed to pay me the $511.00 he owed for work that was paid for by the [redacted] family but never recieved. As you can tell by discovery builders own admission there check was not presented until the month of June.  I followed up with Mr. [redacted] on 04/28/2015 by email and recieved no responce back. (These email correspondence are attached). Finally at the begining of June I contacted Mr. [redacted] through text message about the check, he assured me I would have it soon. Mr. [redacted] made no mention about any paperwork he needed signed, so I instructed him where to leave the check. 
The Revdex.com records should show where the complaint was first filed, then dropped by the [redacted] family because Mr.[redacted] agreed to pay. When the money was never paid the [redacted] family reopened the claim.MR. [redacted] has been  notified of at least (2) other items that need to be repaired I.E Stone work that is craked on the front porch, as well as the basement safe room leaking some water when it rains. Mr. [redacted] was sent pictures and has been physically on site to witness each one of these. The [redacted] family has not been contacted since Mr. [redacted] was on site assuring us the items woud be repaired.
I am saddened to here that Discovery Builders was far to busy to respond to the Revdex.com, but not suprised. It is just another testament to how they do business, and how much they care about there reputation.
