In the DBT program I worked exclusively with Carla C***, LCSW, and, in Group, with Ms C*** and Jennifer M***, LCSWBoth were very professional, extremely helpful, and very tolerant with unconditional acceptance of my behavior associated with my mental illness diagnosisI followed up with Rebecca M***, PhD, and continue to see on an as needed basisThe key word here is "worked." There is no magic pill or wand for treating emotional or mental problemsThe client MUST WANT to have a life worth living; MUST WANT to be willing to do the work as taught in groupNo Dr or therapist can "change" any mental health issues UNLESS THE PERSON IS WILLING OR WANTS TO CHANGEIt took me six months to reach this point and I could not have had any more patient, competent, and caring mental health workers than I had at Discovery Counseling and Consulting

The key word here is "worked." There is no magic pill or wand for treating emotional or mental problems. The client MUST WANT to have a life worth living; MUST WANT to be willing to do the work as taught in group. No Dr or therapist can "change" any mental health issues UNLESS THE PERSON IS WILLING OR WANTS TO CHANGE. It took me six months to reach this point and I could not have had any more patient, competent, and caring mental health workers than I had at Discovery Counseling and Consulting.

Review: This company has over-billed me. I have contacted them several times about it, but they refuse to listen or be of any help. My last visit with this place was on 07/01/2014, and the session lasted 15 minutes. They were initially going to bill for a lot longer, and when I brought up how short the session was they replied with "we'll change the code to 30 minutes, but some insurance companies allow this, others don't" meaning they expected me to pay for a full 45 or 60-minute session when I had only been there for 15!! The visit in itself comprised of me talking for a bit, then 10 minutes of complete silence while this supposed therapist just stared at me. As I was waiting for him to offer me advice, he said the session was over and that I could go. So I wanted to make sure I was only being billed for 15 minutes, and after a lot of email exchange back-and-forth they refuse to bill me for anything less than 30 minutes. They also made the ridiculous comment that that "code" could be for 16 minutes, which is ridiculous. I should not have to pay for a 30 minute session when I was not even there for 15 minutes.Desired Settlement: I was planning on paying my balance owed to-date, including half of what I would be billed for the ridiculously short last visit that they are trying to get from me. [redacted] then threatened me with collections... WHAT?? They're going to send my information to collections because they billed me for twice what I actually owe?I demand that this last visit now be completely written-off, as it was a waste of time and trying to fix this issue is causing me a great deal of pain and suffering.
