In the 14 years I've been here, never has the cancel policy been misinterpreted. $10 is certainly not worth a silly dispute and we have credited him back the $10 to his credit card.
However we already have a very lenient cancel policy: cancel with at least 72 hour notice and lose only...
$10 from your first night deposit (per space, just as your deposit is per space). If you go elsewhere you will pay a $10 fee upfront just to make a reservation (a reservation fee), and pay in advance in full.
We make every effort to treat all of our customers equally and fairly, in a courteous fashion. It is not appreciated at all when our employees are treated with disrespect.
