Horrible customer service! Horrible service! You pay too much for what they offer and they charge you EXTREMELY HIGH PENALTIES for cancellation

This company promised several things that they can not deliverWhen I switched to Dish it was in an effort to save money, so I knew they may not be as good as my previous carrierBut I did not expect them to be awfulYou can not DVR a show unless you are watching itWhat is the point in taping it if I have to sit and watch it anyway? They told me I would be able to record up to shows at a timeWell, since you have to watch it while recording how is that possible? I asked why this was, they said I would need a "hopper" I said ok, send me the hopperThey said that would be an additional $This place is a scam, the person who sold me the service was pushy to the point I felt forced to agree with changing my service now I am miserable with it and they want $to "buy out" of my service

I have never been so disappointed in a company as I am with DISH. I have been lied to time and time again and still do not have the service I requested days ago. Monday I called to request a simple HD upgrade. Wednesday a tech came out to install a HD receiver but told us that receiver would not allow us HD service until the dish was upgraded. He could not do that for us so we had to call and schedule another appointment. We again scheduled an appointment for the dish installation on Saturday. Saturday at 8:00 am a tech arrives to tell us that he can't do anything because we needed every receiver in the house to be upgraded and he would not be able to do that for us. Once again we must schedule another appointment. At this point I am very frustrated! I call DISH again and voice my frustration, spoke to several supervisors and was promised that someone would be at my home Saturday with everything needed for the HD upgrade. At 4:00 Saturday no one was there and no one was coming. This time I was told that I was put on a waiting list but no guarantee. While all this is going on I begin to contact Direct TV about getting their service because I was not going to deal with DISH any longer. I talk to DISH about cancelling my service and guess what? I can't cancel with DISH because I now have a new 2 year contract. Oh yes, that receiver installed on Wednesday, the one that is useless, locked us into another 2 years! We have to uphold our end of the contract but obviously DISH does not. So if anyone is looking to switch services or a new service, DISH is NOT recommended! Terrible customer service and the customer service reps obviously are very unknowledgeable about the products and service. It is Sunday and still no HD service,no phone call from DISH and again I am expected to waste more of my time waiting on a tech to come or not come to do the work or not as requested.

The customer service that I received from Dish was extremely unprofessional with a complete lack for customer care. I switched to Dish's services in July 2014. From the day of installation to when I cancelled the services, Dish proved to me that they do not care for their customers. I was lied to about the package that I origininally ordered and did not receive the channels that I requested at the very beginning. The savings that they promised was deception from the get go. I ended up paying more. Their equipment was defective and I reported it. They were supposed to get it fixed and never did. I cancelled a year later becaues I was tired of the deception and games of Dish. The representative whom I spoke to when I terminated my account said it would cost $280. I said that is fine and take it out of my bank account as they did before. I was never late and pride myself on my excellent credit. October, I received a letter saying I owe them $20 and my service was suspended. You can't suspend an account that was already cancelled by the customer. I called Dish and asked why they did not take the entire $280 out. No one could answer that question. I then asked why they did not take the $20 out the next month and they said they did not have my bank account. I asked why because I never told them not to use it. Dish failed on their part to take the payment. After a few minutes they seen my bank information, had me confirm it and the payment of $20 was completed. I told them that this better not affect my credit. They assured me it would not. However they lied again. Five days later I received a letter from RPM collection services for the $20. I called Dish and after about an hour and being transferred 5 times, I thought I could get somebody to understand. Monica kind of eased my anger but in the end I feel Dish provided poor service and put my credit score at a high risk of being affected negatively. I want Dish to do something for me to show their respect as a customer as well as a letter stating they contacted the collection agency it was their fault and not mine. I am truly disgusted about the customer service and how they treated a good paying customer.
