previous visit.The customer brought a pair of jeans and a shirt to be tailored. The shirt was to be tapered on the sleeves and slightly on the sides. The customer was fitted with pins in front of a mirror and asked if it looked and felt good. He responded yes and it must have been altered to his satisfaction because the complaint is about the jeans. Cost for altering the shirt was $19.00He also brought a pair of jeans and asked to taper, hem, and repair a hole on the bottom by the hem and to make a button hole smaller in the fly because the button came undone often; he was also fitted with pins. He was told that I was only able to taper the legs on the outside seam because the inseam had a topstitch that I could not replicate; he was pinned on the outside seam and asked if it looked and felt good in front of a mirror. Also, I asked how he wanted to repair the hole on the bottom by the hem. I explained that I could add jean material under the hole and how it would look like in the inside of the pants he said that he was fine with that. He never mentioned the edging on the INSIDE of the jeans he wanted to preserve. When I tapered the pants I cut the edging, there is nothing I can do to remedy that. The edging is on the inside of the pants. The outside look and fit of the pants are not affected.When he brought the problem to my attention he was very understandably upset. However, he was yelling and using inappropriate language while he expressed that he was not happy with my service. I attempted to explain that in my many years of service I have never pinned a customer in one place and not performed the service in that same place. That is why I use pins instead of tailors chalk on most of the garments to be altered. I make sure the customer sees in front of a mirror what I am going to do to their garments. The cost for altering the jeans was $34.00.I understand that the customer is upset and I want to assure him that this is not a common occurrence in my business. I have built a good reputation through many satisfied customer over the years. I appreciate every one of my customers and I want to assure him that this will never happen again; this was a valuable lesson. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do resolve this situation. To rectify this situation with the customer, I am willing to extend a credit for the amount of $34.00 to be used upon his next visit to my business.I would like to once again extend my apologies for not meeting the customer's expectations.Best Regards
