Took money and did not complete work.
We signed a contract with sales person Jared ***, attached to have damage from Hurricane Michael completed on 01/02/2019. The insurance and mortgage company issued 2 checks totals $21,000 to Distinctive for this work.After receiving the money, the only work completed was leveling of the home and 3/4's of the roof repaired. Nothing else listed in the contract was addressed. The owner will not return calls and has closed the business.

Desired Outcome

We would like the roof to be completed and the other items listed in the contract that needed to be done taken care of.

WE did take a payment from the client to do the roof and level the house. The leveling has been completed 100%. The roof is 90% completed. Pending due to some materials that need to be and scheduling due to Miscommunication for a sales representative that is not working with us any longer. However, after talking to my team We did pass by several times in July and owner asked for us not to do anything. One of our project managers passed by last week and were told the same thing. We will review any the payment made and will reimburse remainder.

The company did not come by in July and were told to do nothing. 2 people appeared last week stating they were from the company, with no credentials, stating they were there to drop off some materials. We had no communication with any one from the company to know who these people were or what was supposed to be done. We would like our money back and the roof to be completed. A phone call from them letting us know who is coming to the house and when to expect someone would be appropriate.

Our manager has been in communication with Ms.. Roof and Fascia were taken cared of this past week. Ms. was informed that Company owner would give her a call to make arrangements to refund for work not performed.

Roofing job incomplete
I have failed my roof inspection 3 times now. I need to have this issue resolved so I can move on with other items.You installed my roof back in December of 2018 and as of today it is not complete, "when will this be accomplished?" I believe I have been more than patient on this issue.
Please repair your answering machine as it will take no messages.

We have had several meetings with the approval of inspection and got cleared with building department on what they are expecting. Coordination is being done to communicate with homeowner and get repairs done this coming week.

as per contract had old skylight removed and new skylight installed. Installation of skylight was not done properly as per manufacturer specifications
on 01/09/2019 our home was reproofed and skylight was installed as per insurance claim. Above items were itemized and paid by *** insurance company. Description for skylight item 19 per insurance claim (R&R Skylight and Reflective Tube). Insurance company paid out $766.21 for Skylight Kit, part number TGF*. After installation was complete we noticed that tube was separating from the flashing. We had Jay from Distinctive look at this and tell us that the tube was not installed properly and he would get back to make repair as per skylight manual. The tube was installed under the flashing and should have been connected to tube ring and snap ring to prevent separation from flashing. The tube ring and snap ring were not installed and also they did not install new tube as per claim (all items were in skylight kit) they used old tube. Several times we called project Manager Preston and also Geovanny ***, President of Distinctive. We have tried for months to contact all parties. About 2 months later Preston called and said he would correct skylight. When he got back to us he said skylight was not under warranty for labor repair. This was not done properly to begin with, Preston also said he would not make repair because it was a courtesy installation. Distinctive was paid for new skylight material and tube and labor. It has been impossible getting in touch withDistinctive employees and we have a distinctive flyer that Distinctive warrants all labor preformed which was given in writing that we would receive a 25 year warranty on labor. When Preston called back again Preston *** said Distinctive would not repair the work that was not installed correctly. Preston said he would hand this project off to Geovanny ***, President and that Geovanny *** would get in touch with us and make repairs. Months have passed and he has still not called. This issue has been going on since January 2019. Our concern is if while making repair that flashing will be broken and new shingles would have to be installed around skylight and if this happens distinctive is responsible as the job was not done properly to begin with.

Desired Outcome

We are seeking complete refund of $766.21 if Distinctive cannot send someone who has knowledge and is capable of how to install skylights. We were told by Preston Distinctive installs Skylights all the time = this installation does not show that and they did not open the instruction manual that was included in the kit, nor did they follow any instructions and we also want to make sure that they install a new reflective tube as per insurance claim that was paid by Safe Harbor.

After a detailed conversation with Mr. Luis *** on 6/28/2019 at 11:15 am. it was agreed to Fully reimburse $766.21 for the skylight. This action has Mr. fully satisfied.

Mr. Jose was a pleasure to work with. He installed my mother in law's roof after last year's hurricane season. He was able to get the insurance to cover the costs. Would definitely recommend.

We got a new roof in February 2019. Imagine our concern when our new roof failed a FHA home inspection in April! A ridge vent cut in half and some exposed nails. I have been in touch with the project manager, the general manager and the owner, these issues still are not fixed and we cannot close on the house because of them. It is now costing us money!
Obviously, this company does not care and the warranty means absolutely nothing. I would not ever hire this company or recommend them.

It is unfortunate that Mr. O feels this way. Our project manager made contact with Mr. O on May 31, 2019, and provided the documentation requested which included the affidavit and Final approved inspection from county inspector. Also, explained that our warranty is transferable if there is any leak in the future for the future homeowner. We are working on scheduling someone to repair areas of concern.

Was notified today, July 8, 2019, the work was completed on 6/21/2019.
Complaint resolved.

Leaking roof after replacement. Still under warranty but unable to contact business or representative.
Purchased home at 7710 Laird Street, Panama City, Fl 324018 end of Feb 2019. Roof warranty transefered automatically to new owner (*** Penny) from previous owner (***. Jacob) 1 time as allowed in warranty without written notice. Roof leakes during rain storms occuring thru March into April 2019. All attempts to contact business has failed (*** Alvarez 407-*** Liscense Number ***). All attempts to contact company Project Manager (*** Pabon 718-***)have failed. Cost of roof replacement was $22,400.00 per previous owners invoice I-*** dated 11/16/2018

Repair existing leaks in roof and honor warranty!

Mr. Penny, I apologize if I did not answer the phone in the past, we have been very busy and voicemail full. This issue did not arise with the previous owner which is why it was not addressed at that time. However, we will warrant our job and stand behind it to make sure all our current and future clients are happy with our work and service. I will be in Panama City in the next couple of weeks and I ensure you I will pass by and make a decision on how to move forward if to leave as and extend skylight warranty or make repair needed if required. I am unable to give you an exact date or time at the moment. As soon as I have a date I will let you know prior to.

I repaired the one that was in fact leaking. It was leaking due to improper installation according to the manufacturers instructions. Screws were not used and the shingles were improperly installed to prevent water backup/intrusion. The ring shank nails backed out when I installed with the recommended screws. The nails stuck up and the heads were not making contact with the skylight flange( meaning the nails were not holding the flange secured). I am aware of the warranty but they are installed incorrectly. They may not leak in the warranty time period but I am confident they will eventually due to improper installation in my opinion ( as did the one). If, Mr.Alvarez, you are confident of your work why not extend the warranty out to 5 more years over the original warranty to cover the sky lights? However, I would like to know that when I call you then you would at least answer your phone or allow a voice mail to be left (and no you had no voice mail set up at the number for your Orlando office so none could be left)? You are in fact a hard person to reach else this would have been resolved with the original owners at the time of the failure.

He's right. They dropped off one bundle of shingles and a box of around 10 small screws! Today 6/29 two persons showed up with instructions to "put some screws in a few shingles! One of the workers looked at the sky lights and stated there is not enough materials to do this job and was confused on what was to be done. I talked to him and let him know that I would be available today if his boss wanted to talk to me about my concerns. I still have not heard anything from the company by phone, e-mail or any other means. So, I will pass it to them through this reply*--- Sir---call me, come buy the property, email me what ever the means I will talk to you about this.

Communication was made Today with Mr. Penny via Email. He has been informed that We will be in Panama City the week of July 15 to get the repairs needed to have him satisfied and finalize this process. As the repairs were not able to be done this last weekend. Our crew said that materials were missing to complete repairs required.

Very professional. Worked efficiently with the insurance company to get our roof replaced quickly.

After Hurricane Michael hit Panama City I was in need of a new roof (shingles). Mr K Y showed up at my door and offered to do a free roof inspection. After several other similar inspections, I decided to go with Distinctive - mostly because Mr. K was straightforward and polite and the price was right. My roof installation took 2 days. The crew was very professional and efficient, and cleaned up all debris. I have a beautiful new roof and would recommend this company to anyone in my situation. Thank you, especially Mr K Y for being precise in his efforts.

Fraud Practice of Documents. Falsifying documents. "Contract" has misspelled Name, Misspelled Address, No ID check to confirm signer was home owner,

"Contract" has misspelled Name, Misspelled Address, No ID check to confirm signer was home owner, I have turned this info over to Department of Revenue Consumer Complaints department. This false document is now delaying my insurance claim. I had damage from Hurricane Michael and this company came into a DO NOT Silicate neighborhood and now they are delaying my desperate need for a new roof.

Desired Outcome

Removal of all communication with my insurance company, removal of false claim to insurance benefits, no involvement with my home or insurance claim as I try to recover from this devastating Hurricane.

this company re-roof my house, but did not finish the whole work
this company did not paint the roof pipe, and the borders around the house it's not attached or glued. sales rep is Guillermo we paid the whole amount $8,980.00, before start re-roofing we paid $4,500.00 and $4,480.00 when they finish it. but Guillermo promise me to paint the little pipe in the roof and stick or glue the borders around the house. now they do not pick up the phone and do not return my calls.

The only resolution that I want is they finish their job.

In response contact has been made with Mr. on the afternoon of 07/09/2018 we were not able to get back with him that evening. Crew was out to paint the lead boots as promised on 07/10/2018 in the afternoon. We had some internal communication issues with Salesperson that was in communication with Mr. initially. We will schedule a visit with homeowner to make sure everything is to there satisfaction.

The roofing company painted the pipe vent on the roof, but they did not attach or glued the eave strip to the edge. Besides they have not contact me since last month.
