He never suggested that it was not covered under the claim and that it would be an additional cost If he would have offered to fix the handle at an additional cost, we would have gone ahead with the repairs However, as I mentioned above, he did not offer to fix it either under the home warranty claim, nor at an additional cost The letter also does not address the fact that the plumber also made a leaking valve under the kitchen sink worse as well as a leak in the master bathroom sink worse He also did not address the fact that I called to have them come back to fix the leaking water and they refusedThey obviously do not value quality service and only arrive at the home when it is a warranty claim to collect the deductible fee, make a mess, and leave

I am writing to file a complaint against DiTommaso Plumbing at [redacted]; ###-###-####.

We recently had a few plumbing issues and we filed a claim with our home warranty service, Home Warranty of America (###-###-####) and they contracted DiTommaso Plumbing to come out to do the work. They called me to make an appointment which was supposed to be on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 between 8:30 and 9:30. Nobody showed up and I called to see if somebody was still coming around 10:00 and the receptionist said they didn’t have an appointment for us and that I had to file a claim with our home warranty. I told her that I had already filed a claim and she was the one to call me to setup the appointment. She said she would look for the claim and call me back if there was any trouble and we rescheduled for Friday, August 29, 2014 between 8:30 and 9:30. Again, nobody showed up and I called and she said we did not have a claim. I told her that I specifically spoke to her on Wednesday and she was to call me back if there was any trouble, but she did not. She admitted she did not get on the computer to look for the claim and said she would send somebody out right away.

A person from DiTommaso came to look at our plumbing issues, which were a leaking valve under the kitchen sink, a leak in a sink in the master bath and 2 shower handles that were overturning and loose. He claimed to tighten something under the sink, pulled a piece of plastic from the bathroom sink and stated that the shower handles “weren’t really broke” and “they weren’t hurting anything.” After he left, we discovered the leak in the kitchen was worse and water was spilling onto the sink in the master bathroom. Once we found this, I called DiTommaso back to tell them it wasn’t fixed and they said they couldn’t send anybody back out and that I would have to file another claim with the home warranty company. We also had the shower handle jam on Sunday, August 31, 2014 and could not get the water to turn off and had to call another plumber during emergency hours to fix the handle and get the water to stop.

DiTommaso charged us a $100 service fee for making our problems worse, plus we ended up spending over $800 in emergency service fees and parts for the repairs that DiTommaso refused to fix, especially after they made it worse. I am requesting they refund me the $100 service fee. I have notified Home Warranty of America and I will also be inquiring with our attorney to see what our options are.
